The problem is that your entire point is predicated on the fact that you are claiming that you understand the storytelling better than anyone else. The problem is is that you have already demonstrated your bias, which shows that you have a agenda and in fact are not trying to advance a proper understanding of the story.

The question you want to ask which is probably the biggest difference between how the novel treats Bjorn and how the manhwa treats him is 'Do you think Bjorn is a good person?' Because in the novel he is very utilitarian in how he treats people around him, although he prioritizes helping the people close to him. It's all about what's best for him, so in that sense Bjorn treats everyone as either a threat or something useful to him. And he has a tendency to outright murder those who show hostility towards him who aren't really threats, because its the easiest path forward. And he is *very* cavalier about working with whomever he needs to in the immediate moment to gain as much of an advantage as possible.
Does he have a good bit of camaraderie with his party? Of course, these are the people he spends the most time with and has come to depend on. Does he also view them as investments in keeping himself alive and helping him to clear the game? For a very long time, this is also true. But when it comes to getting Amelia on his side later on, he refers to the entire process as keeping his SSR grade gacha recruitment ticket safe, for instance. I honestly cheered when he got to the point where 'lets maybe not casually kill someone who wasn't even responsible for making the bad decision in the opposing party' became a consideration for Bjorn.
Bjorn is honestly kind of a piece of shit and a hypocrite to people he deals with, he's just much less bad to his immediate party. He does open up to them over time - as he's said in the manhwa, he'd have to be really dense to not realize how Misha feels about him at this point- and he wants to keep the people important to him alive. But at the end of the day, it takes a long time for him view anyone as something other than investments.
Mufu didn't realize anything, as he points out the only reason that he lost was because he turned out to be weaker than Rover and Qingxiao. He still believed that his Way was correct despite the many, many obvious flaws inherent in the situation, because he was such a massive ass and his ego literally could not fit in the same Sonoro Sphere with his body.
Phrolova at least admitted that she had failed over and over again, and while she wasn't willing to give up, the amount of time she had spent with no progress at least made her cognizant of the possibility that her goal was impossible.
Mufu was an egotistical ass who believed that if everyone else would just do what he said, tried harder, sacrificed their lives and humanity, given him what he wanted then he would have received the glory he felt he was owed. Phrolova's goals were always about other people - Muyu has always been utterly self centered.
