lately yes - sometimes i have seen bigger delays, especifically with the page indexing reports being up to 20 behind/l;agging.
It happens from time to time.
WxMan2201
vanity metric from 3rd party tools --- google's algo. and backend systems can snuff out these patterns and just ignore - and if you go against their spam/link spam guidance - they will hit you with a penalty/manual action.
Backlinks = Quality over Quantity.
WxMan2201
The data within Google Search Console in the GenAI reports is limited - at best - hopefully they improve that --- Bing Webmaster keeps adding stuff - no clicks - but better information than GSC, but more limited because Bing is a 10th of Google.
At my agency we evaluated a bunch of vendors --- Peec AI is what we use - its become the 'best' platform out there - because they can adding and changing - for the better.
I have another client using profound - and its pretty good - but expensive!
Remember all of these 3rd party tools -are directional at best - IMO - and each tool on its own, and comparing to other tools - you are not going to get the same result for the same prompt - that why you run them daily - and look at the 'trends' over time.
Unfortunately I do not trust ANY third-party tool - more than directional, and providing Insights - especially with what google has done in the last 15 months of anti-scraping methods.
Probably not the answer you wanted u/The_Jonce - but I would pick one that meets your needs and budget - and consider it directional....hopefully one day within Google's reports we get more robust data/reporting - but I am not going to hold my breath.

The owned vs earned is automated, but we tag with brand, nontraditional funnel and intent, topic prod. Sol. Ind. Etc.
WxMan2201
Query fan on our tracked prompts and the ability to tag and filter prompts, and their owned and earned media drilldowns
WxMan2201
One correction to your second to last bullet on tracking tools are synthetic u/VillageHomeF --- i dont know what you mean by they choose --- i can generate a prompt list using gsc data - using a custom regex to pull out quesetion, best, comparison, etc. .type prompts and load those into those systems - those are mine i choose what to upload - not the system --- and a tool like peec - not sure if you have seen inside it - gives you the query-fan outs to the grounded web searches it is doing.
1000% yes the run to runs shift the results across the models - but if you run those prompts across all the models once a day for weeks/months - you will see some directional trends - about where your brand is showing up across that prompt set - and where you are not - and what the tools are pulling as sources/domains in those responses -- thats a very high level good directional - guide to know that competitors linkedin pulse pages, or how-to youtube videos are getting pulled in compared to say reddit, or some other source no?
I dont necessarily care about the order - but I do want to know which prompts arent mentioning me - and what earned media sources are being pulled into these prompts - that helps the PR and social teams for their outreach.
Some of these tools like peec, you can get the log files - and see which models are accessing what on your site and how often --- I think thats about the only thing I would say confidently - that you can pretty accurately measure is the crawl requests using the log files.
WxMan2201
u/VillageHomeF bing webmaster has citation data with cited pages and queries in it --- GSC as the GenAI reports of Impressions (AI Mode and AIOs).
WxMan2201
u/Emotional-Peen3001 are you able to take that data and cross reference it to the pages that increased the most during that time period like WoW or MoM or period over period? And what specifically did you do? ---- not doubting you - this might be more of an effect of impressions increasing for AIOs as Google rolls out that SERP feature more and more.
WxMan2201
u/timmy_vee just asking - which specifically are the schema types you added to the site and where? Just curious? Also - do you see any increases in GSC in the enhancements reports?
WxMan2201
u/Ken_Numbers - agreed with you here - i would not take any of the data from any of the tools as more than directional - similar to using search vol. or keyword ranking data from ahrefs, semrush etc. - its directional at best - especially anything beyond page 1 - BUT its the 'best' peak to see what is potentially going on using tools like semrush and peec to review keyword and prompt tracking.
WxMan2201
actually i did
WxMan2201
u/Ken_Numbers PR should be integrated with SEO --- but what the PR team did was on their own that we found in the data - so when you say 'basic seo' assuming you mean basic 'pr' --- sorry you cant read lol
WxMan2201
u/Ken_Numbers -- impossible to measure? maybe - probably? - accurately measure? probably not? especifically with how personalized AI and the SERP are today based on the user and GEO.
But peec, profound, scrunch - give a directional - at best - look into a limited set of tracked prompts - across models - its the 'best' we have until - if ever bing and gsc give us broken out data for copilot and aimode/ AIOs.
WxMan2201
for the record on this one u/Ken_Numbers and u/VillageHomeF never said anything on this was different 'geo' than 'seo' --- it wasn't even SEO lol - it was PR earning placements and bylines through their activities and those URL's showing up as cited sources within the 150 tracked prompts in Peec across all the models.
The data showed up in GSC as well as in Bing Webmaster GenAI data.
WxMan2201
u/structed-ai - honestly ANY of the 3r party AI visibility tools, Prompt Trackers, and the 3rd party Keyword/rank Tracking tools --- they are directional - at best - and you are 100% correct - i agree a snapshot --- BUT its the best we have - unless bing/gsc/ga4 provide more complete data that is first party --- and yes results can vary - agree there 100% - the serp and ai-chats are so personalized now - depending on who you are, and where you are located.
I dont trust any of these 3rd party tools - beyond directional insights.
WxMan2201
u/structed-ai What is interesting in what i see in my clients' data within peec ai - is their AI visibility measured is a lot of times, rooted in branded prompts - and almost nothing in non-brand - by a far margin - which means unless the user knows the brand by name and mentions them - they are invisible on the non-branded prompts - but when the brands im tracking do show - they are ranked high and usually more positive.
WxMan2201
I will say - yes - cautiously - at my agency we have an integrated SEO/GEO and PR program. And our PR team in the last quarter secured over 20 PR placements --- out of those 2 - one was in Forbes and started to get cited and it increased brand mentions for this b2b saas client.a
So not specific GEO 'things' but it was our work with PR and Social teams. offsite tactics got us more AI visibility across the models through the pr efforts.
WxMan2201
did you try manually submitting those links in GSC for indexing? Sometimes that works.
in gscc the discovered - not crawled and the crawled - not indexed - are trust gates by google - before they allow the pages/content to be crawled and indexed --- i would improve on-page content quality....make it unique, non-commodity content.
I would try manually submitting them in GSC first though.
Remember googles resources are finite - not only on the open web - but on your site - it cant crawl and index everything - so it picks and choses based on quality and trust signals - i would review googles updated - recently - helpful content guidelines.
WxMan2201
easy answer - yes --- too many content pieces - not enough quality on the new stuff - or on the existing stuff.
2027 needs to be the year of should we really create this content, not how much content or how long. and what content can we get rid of, what can we improve.
Like backlinks, content is becoming about quality not quantity in googles eyes, IMO.
WxMan2201
okay ::sigh:: u/WebLinkr -
REAL-world example one - earlier this week with a client - they had a code push - for a post-migration release - it messed up their robots.txt and they cms resource and staging links started to get crawled and indexed in some instances by google --- example of increased crawl rates - NOT being a good thing --- thankfully it was caught - by me - because i checked their GSC every morning, among other systems/reports.
Real-world example two - earlier this month - separate client - their robots.txt file reverted back and had a disallow rule for everything --- their crawl rates plummeted from 1000s of crawls per day to less than 100 - made the fix after we found it - crawl rates went back up - and oh look impressions increased too.
Real-world example three - last year working on the pepboys.com site at my last agency - their IT started blacklisting some IP ranges that included google-bot - their crawl rates went from 100,000+ daily crawl requests - down to a few 100 - found the issue - fixed - crawl rates stabilized - after impressions declined --- impressions started increasing.
Hypothetical --- if a site is going through their blog - and making sitewide changes- say their site never had schema, and they implement organization, website and article and breadcrumblist schema --- google is going to see these improvements and updates to the site - crawl the site more to get those new signals --- and potentially index more content pages/higher - thus - improving impressions......Another example -- somebody going through a website update and they replatform, or a new skin- whatever- thats new code, new signals and updates --- google crawls the site more
Last example - a client is pruning content on their site taking down and redirecting old content - updating outdated content and makign improvements --- some of those pages might have been stuck in the discovered - not crawled, or crawled - not indexed - because of the content improvements - google crawls more - they actually index and rank the pages now --- and they get more impressions.
Google-bot - and their other list of crawlers go to a domain --- they crawl the page - if the site allows it to (robots.txt file rules), once it crawls the page it Renders the code of the page, after it renders the page and collects the data and signals it needs, it will index the page (if the signals are good enough AND - if the site allows it (index, noindex) tags, finally once it indexes the page - it will then rank it ---- otherwise google will put these pages into trust buckets - first being discovered - not crawled ---- 2nd being crawled - not indexed ----
i'll wait for my apology u/WebLinkr ...... i can draw this for you in crayon if you would like.
WxMan2201
u/onreact intereseteing - i havent seen it or what it looks like in probably 6 or 7 months when we cancelled when we went to peec --- what is interesting is that people across the industry used to talk about them a lot - and i think ziptie.dev was the first solid tool to come out - but seems like people migrated to peec, profound, or scrunch - or use whatever semrush, ahrefs, brightedge, or seoclarity have - but all of those are expensive enterprise solutions. --- ziptie.dev is great for justt a few prompts for medium size site - IMO.
WxMan2201
lol trust isnt a human emotion u/BusyBusinessPromos --- just like your browser and computer security - sometimes it doesnt 'trust' the links you are clicking on and warns you --- its the same thing with googles algo. - if your site has no authority, nobody is talking about you, etc. your site is slow, your content quality signals are low - its not goign to trust your site enough to rank it worthy enough to be visible as a potential click to a website from googles ecosystem out into the open web.
WxMan2201
u/annseosmarty honestly the ux/ui of profound has changed very little from february when i first got access to present --- peec ai on the other hand - they have added so much and the ui is better than it was --- and the agent they have in the tool is awesome --- i still have it connected to claude, but the agent within peec to ask stuff right there in your project for a client is AWESOME!
WxMan2201
u/saniya__5502 i agree with u/ZainMunawari --- i think especially over the last couple model updates - being able to create a project for a client - upload a ton of files - and train that project for that client and come back to that for future data, analysis, etc. its pretty good.
I think it connects to my google suite, and other SEO tools really well and organizes that. I honestly go to claude first --- and if I dont like what it gave me then i try chatgpt - or sometimes i try both and see which output is better.
You could have the GREATEST domain authority on the planet for a website - but if google cant crawl and fetch and discover and index the content and pages on your website - its useless.....
So.... technical health - specifically indexing and discoverability comes before Domain Authority.
