System Shock 1 gets called out in this sub as not actually an imsim on a regular basis. It's at most a proto-imsim, lacking the interacting systems of a true imsim.

The remake is entirely too obsessed with being "retro". Like, Nightdive made a pixelated retro version of System Shock with seemingly zero awareness that a pixelated retro version already existed.
