It’s not really, at least by itself. Agree that there was overhiring during Covid. The industry is still larger than it was pre-COVID. Many of the positions that have been eliminated were not necessary, and if I’m being truly honest, many of the people (not all) who were laid off and have struggled to find work since were not the strongest developers. (Some were — being a talented developer and getting a job are not exactly the same skill set.)

The real issue is that VC is very cold on games. This means that you’ll see more from big companies who already have funding and less from AA or indies, unless they’re very small and self-funded.

Interesting, you certainly implied that we should all know why some parents might object to this (“I think you can guess”), so apologies if I was incorrect in extrapolating that to an implication that you didn’t think this was an activity that OP should do. 

And yes, as I’ve already said, if someone is rude to you, you should push back on that. 

But I will also push back when I see misinformation, as will others, so be prepared for that.

The implication here is that OP should not do an activity like this, so no, the restriction is not just on your own child. No Girl Scout is ever compelled to engage in an activity they’re uncomfortable with. Not participating is always an option. 

It is patently obvious that Netflix and Sony did not invent the concepts of demons and spirits. These are concepts in many contemporary and former religions in the world. There are many many different religious depictions of these concepts, so many that I cannot even guess from your comments which religion or family or religions you might be referring to. However, the movie does not make light of these concepts — I’m guessing you haven’t seen it.

What it may do is depict these concepts in a way that is different from the religion you practice. I encourage you to open your mind a bit and recognize that your religion does not have an authority on how these concepts are depicted. If you consider other depictions to be inherently mocking, that is very limiting when it comes to interactions with people from other religions. So I come back to my initial point. It is not fair to the other girls to restrict their experience based on an individual’s unwillingness to accept other depictions of spirituality. 

I’m not saying it has to resonate with me. The vast majority of religious beliefs in the world do not resonate with the vast majority of people in the world because we have a broad diversity of religions. However, while I don’t see a need to be “nasty and sarcastic” to anyone (to use your words), I don’t think it’s fair to the other girls to restrict their experience based on an invented faux religious belief from a movie. I struggle to see how that could possibly be considered a deeply held religious conviction. The movie has only been out for 3 months. 

And well you should, but I don’t see the relevance to KPop Demon Hunters, which is a work of fiction that does not depict any specific real world religion.
