SOME black people have higher incidences of sickle cell anemia. This is mostly people with Sub-saharan African ancestry. However the problem with such a broad "racial" category like "black", is that it includes all Africans who are not sub-saharan and do not belong to this particular segment.

White people have a higher incidence of skin cancer because of the physical properties of their skin and melanin pigment. That has nothing to do with race, as asians with higher skin will get skin cancer similar to your typical caucasian, while those with darker skin will have decreased rates. In dermatology, we classify all patients purely on their skin types (Fitzpatrick typing) as opposed to "race" because it doesn't matter here.

Yes, Ashkenazi Jews do have significantly increased risk, however notice how they are caucasians who are actually classified based on their ethnicity and not their race. Many "white" people are split into their ethnic ancestries, while black people are all somehow lumped into one group. The way people justify racial pre-disposition in medicine is like saying white people are predisposed to Gaucher type 1, Fanconi anemia, etc, when we all know it's only a subsegment of that population. Why do black people, a descriptor based purely on skin color, who are equally genetically diverse in their population as white people, get medically lumped into a single "race" based solely on a single phenotype (their skin color)?

And before anyone downvotes you for being a shill, they are free to look at the wikipedia page.

Lol pnas is where NAS PIs publish if they know their paper won’t get accepted anywhere else

It's because the previous 2 papers (germ line editing and mouse AAV editing) from the lab both also went to Science. It's more of a "let's make a trilogy".

Nothing to see here, just a mod stickying their own posts. What a joke. Complete lack of transparency.

aznscourge

Its so obvious the new round of mods are complete power hungry shills. All you have to do is look at what they post and what they decide to sticky and its no wonder why CA was so successful in manipulating millions of online users during the election

PewPew PewPew, the sound of Trumpturds deflecting.

aznscourge

Can't wait for this irrefutable video evidence to get stickied! Oh wait who am I kidding, the mods are Trump shills.

aznscourge

I think nowadays, "cuck" is the preferred term.

aznscourge

They are just a shill trying to deflect by painting themselves as a victim of other shills. Look at their account. 1 Month old, and only in the past day have they been spamming posts.

Because doctors are the ones who ultimately take blame and get sued when things go wrong. They have the most responsibility for the patient's care.

Damn that is pretty small for china lol

I don't think it's something you will ever be able to guess correctly because there's so much more to the Attack on Titan world that you have yet to find out.

It's not a democracy when the elected party is actively corrupt and suppresses/controls media. I'm sorry but if my leader is stomping over human rights i'd be pissed to. Easy for those in the majority when there rights aren't being trampled.

And they wonder why no one outside of this subreddit takes them seriously.
