Instead of F2P, charge $20/month to play whatever you want without a need for GE/SL.
The only thing GE's get you is camo's.
The F2P mechanic, excessive grind, and unbalance for profits really gets frustrating.

Yep, I was, same nick back then.
Try this <URL removed, hit me up if you want to test it tho>
Its the impulse based incarnation, and I'm just made it old and obsolete, but it worked on my phone! Though waaaay too small (even on my expanded fold8) to be useful. Proof of concept though!
I'll take that down after a while, as surely its eating up my server CPU, lol.

Well apparently lots of people are using AI to reverse engineer exe's. I did not try to do that, as I wanted something more modern, so what I'm doing is completely from "scratch".
Though I do plan on copying the way the game played, and some of the interface design.
It is neat that it follows impulses right now. Its like a quick play version of SFB, but 2 seconds isn't enough time to redo your energy allocation sheet in an impulse, so i think I'll have to convert it to true real time like SFC was.
Thanks for working on the original, it gave many of us a huge amount of enjoyment. Heck, hacking ship data in the EXE is what got me started with programming all those years ago. I was never a programmer in occupation, but have done little things for work for a long time. Retired now and with AI its sure allowing me to make my ideas come to life, and in a day, its nuts.

it will be, though by their very nature things like star wars, babylon 5, and star trek really do not work together.
Star trek stuff just teleports bombs into B5 ships and out ranges everybody else by tens of thousands of km.
bad_syntax
Yep, that was my point. Right now its about 2 seconds per impulse, so almost real time, but it is segmented by impulse. I was asking if people would like it that way, or go back to full real time.
bad_syntax
Yeah, once I'm done working on it..... but I was curious too, so I went and looked.
It isn't horrible, at least from a "AI did 100% of it" perspective. However, I think I had asked for it to work in web browsers, so apparently this whole game is in javascript! 1.3mb and 42 files.
It does have a server component though, but that isn't bad, as I have a web server I can run it on and, at least a few months ago before retirement and I was a solutions architect, I knew how to take this and through it into an azure web app in a few minutes and make it work. Check out the "run.bat" file it made!

How cool is that? I'll see if I can get it running out of my environment when its done with its current updates and share the site out.

Nothing to spend it on.
I bought everything I've researched.
I've bought the crew experience thing for every vehicle.
I have 150M SL, and the only reason it isn't 250M is I wasted it on crates.
Wish they'd let me use it to convert my convertible RP instead of just sitting there doing nothing.

I really wanted to fly helicopters as a kid.
I joined the army, did some air assault missions, found out just how big, loud, and bulky even a UH-60 was.
Decided I'd rather stay infantry.... because I'm an idiot.
Still though, pilots only get to fly a couple hours a week, have to spend huge amounts of time keeping up with FAA rules and learning about their machines and stuff. In war it is probably different, but in peacetime you rarely get to fly around.

Get an attorney to help me find a way to cash it and not pay taxes.
Then 2 girls at once, or maybe 3 if its the powerball.

People always blaming teams.
Like Gaijin takes 16 bad players and puts them on one team, and 16 good players on the other.
They DO know all our skill levels.
So ask yourself, statistically, is my entire team bad, or is something else amiss causing wins and losses to ensure all players get a fair chance at victory? I mean, Gaijin is a for-profit company, the game is F2P, and player count at all skill levels is highly desired.
Also, everybody has good streaks and bad. Go look at your last 100 games and your ratio won't be so bad.

Twice in the past 2 weeks I've given AI the rules, the assets, and a page or so of prompt, and by morning it spit out a mostly functional game. Then I have to spend a week tweaking stuff, mostly interface, and its done great.
Meanwhile, I can't get it to rip ship/sub data from historical reference books accurately to save my life.
Somethings its great at, other things its awful. I would never in a million years trust an LLM with data and precision from a business or accounting type perspective, but its great at making games and little stupid things with little to no effort.
I made an entire game, and it cost me $23 of my $200 subscription. How cool is that?

Guess that means the only intelligent civilization within 10,000 light years is the other one.
bad_syntax
ZAY I think I called it.... I should probably know, lol.
If you see me online, 11ACR is my current nick, hit me up and I can probably kick somebody inactive off to free a slot.
The only time I get under 20K is if I do not play enough.

Huh? People PAY to see him?!!?!??
They were begging folks to go here in Dallas because he couldn't fill up an audience. I figured they had no cost if they were begging.
But yeah, lets not give him any money freely, lets just vote to stop him from taking it anyway.

I had like 80 trays, 8.5" x 11, filled, and they were just kinda tossed in, not organized.
It was just a huge pain in the ass to move, ate up a 12x12' bedroom floor *completely*, and I had 2 painters, one died, one got COVID and couldn't paint anymore, so they were out!
bad_syntax
Sold them off, over like a year, for a fraction of what I paid. I still have a stack of nicely painted ones though, but in hindsight I wish I would have kept 1 of each so I could get good top pics of them, and more easily create graphics.
bad_syntax
No, just quoting the field manuals that stated for most units the color schemes are parade schemes, but they use "appropriate" camo when going into battle.
bad_syntax
my squadron gets 20k every 3 days, has for years.
If any players are below 1000 and haven't played in a week, they get the boot. If they haven't played in 2 weeks, they get the boot.
Wish I could find somebody to take it over though. I've promoted like 20 people to officer, nothing.
Still takes literally months to get vehicles :(
bad_syntax
Its great.
Though the T-34-100, that one is freaking amazing, and easily handles much higher BRs.
bad_syntax
Yep, the "Great White Fleet".
Parade colors :D
Some amazing aircraft paintjobs around the world, especially Japan, though none meant for combat. Wish we had more of those actually.

Meanwhile, your SPA with no armor just absorbed a 130mm APHE naval round and was fine enough to continue to engage.
Your crew would have been dead, ammo cooked, and assuming they all lived, the concussion inside the hull or turret would have killed everybody.
This is 100% a game, and not realistic by any stretch, not in any ground mode anyway.
bad_syntax
better yet, lets use up ALL his rally seats.
Then, the second he speaks, we ALL get up and walk out.
That would be more destructive to his ego than any words.
bad_syntax
Because organized militaries, hundreds to thousands of years ago, made those names, and they have persisted across thousands of years.
Heck, go look at British military unit names from today.

I'd feel better if service was not allowed until you were 30, without exception.
Ukraine has proven that older people fight smarter.
Disclaimer: I joined basic as an infantryman in the US Army at 20.
I am working on making it phone compatible, though I fear it'll always be too complex, but it may work on a tablet soon.
