Good Christians aren’t voting for Paxton.

One of our kids is disabled and cannot work. We have a trust set up that after we pass a special needs trust will go into effect. It will get a large chunk of money and it will be over seen by the trust department of our financial services company. The remaining balance of the trust will be divided between our other two kids (less some charitable donations). Depending on the value our estate, our disabled child may get more or less than the others. But the special needs trust will be funded first. Our other kids know and understand this. They both want to be involved in his care when we are gone and we are grateful for this. As parents we feel a great responsibility to make sure our disabled child is cared for after we are gone.

I voted no because I do not trust this supermajority legislature. There is something in it that will come back to bite us in the butt. I don’t know what that is but they ALWAYS have an agenda. Vote NO!

I know that. I am simply saying you can be a good person and be a Christian. The term “Christian” in today’s US has a negative connotation due to MAGA. One can live a life showing the love of Jesus and not even mention his name. And someone who is a good person can be a good politician, whether they follow Jesus or not.

I am not being divisive I am saying the term mega church has a specific connotation in my experience and that is that they are right wing evangelical congregations. Also when most non evangelical people read/hear the term mega it has negative implications because of said right wingers. No. I have always liked voted with the greater good in mind. I have had both a little money and a great deal of money in my life. My values have not changed. I always think of overall society with a special eye on “the least of these” whether I was/am one or not.

I agree that along a river is best. Some options “floating” around over the years are St Joe, Jeff City, St Charles but not sure any are still under consideration.

When I said it’s not a “mega” church in the usual sense I mean that it is not a far right evangelical church that doesn’t follow/promote the teachings of Jesus (although they claim to be Christian). That is what I think of when I read “mega” church. His church is not that.

I hope some professional curator entity will “buy” it and give it the platform it needs-wherever that may be. It is cool but I understand that the river market is no longer the best place for it.

I read an interview with the kids of James and Helen and they said they love the expanded Mrs Hall character in the current series. This warms my heart -just like the show.

I am a fairly new viewer (2-3 years). I have always liked him, Maria and family but they haven’t been front and center until now. Had no idea of his background until recently. Honestly, the fact that he’s a grey character makes me like him even more. He and David are my favorite male characters.

There will be one more season of the show. I have not read the books but plan to a couple of years after the show is over. I think/hope that should give me enough distance to enjoy the books in their own right.
I am rewatching the series now to pass the time until the final season airs.

Hamilton’s church is not a mega church in the way mega churches got their reputations. It is simply a huge United Methodist church. It is welcoming of all and does not discriminate against anyone. The he teachings of Jesus are it’s focus. If you read Jesus words/actions and take them to heart you will live a life of love for others. This is the tenants of the Methodists and Hamilton. I am voting for Hamilton because he not only talks the talk, he walks the walk.

I got the same vaccine and by the end of the day was feeling achy in my upper body. Same the next day. After that I was fine except the injection spot was sore for days. Interestingly enough, this is exactly how I felt the only time I got Covid (minus the fever).
