Outraged nonsense? You good?

curiouscollecting

Intersex is not a gender expression tho

curiouscollecting

I wouldn’t ’cut them off’ they would simply not become part of my intimate circle. That would be the case whether they share views I disagree with as well as if they didn’t share it at all. I’d still talk to them and be friendly with them, I’d still sit together. Apparently to others that would already be considered a friend, to me it is not.

curiouscollecting

Right?

Me: ‘I personally wouldn’t consider people with such political views genuine friends’
Them: ‘you shouldn’t be alienating people and you’re bad for hating on anything different’

That’s not what I said?!

curiouscollecting

Yeah so that’s something that I realised pretty quickly after this post; I have good acquaintances and I have ‘close friends’. I don’t have in between and my acquaintances are what others apparently consider friends. I can’t imagine having a good friend that doesn’t know what you believe. I’m bisexual, of course my friends know that, and value being able to actually be yourself a 100% with friends. If someone hasn’t felt free to share their views they aren’t at the level of a ‘close’ friend yet and if I disagree with them on such a topic they would be a good acquaintance to me rather then a friend but apparently others already consider that friends.,

curiouscollecting

It’s not that simple. If I think you should do something absolutely atrocious to yourself that’s ‘just an opinion’ except it’s not, it doesn’t work like that.

curiouscollecting

That’s the privilege I’m talking about in my post lol

curiouscollecting

No, I said ‘a lot of them’ referring to my Christian conservative surrounding.

curiouscollecting

? Yeah I’ve had many conversations about this kind of stuff. ‘That’s what god says’ doesn’t make me feel compelled to stay friends with them.

curiouscollecting

I disagree, differing opinions on human rights just isn’t the same as a slight inconvenience to me

curiouscollecting

No you want women to only care about money and not make their own decisions. Anyways, I was simply responding to you saying you’re the oppsitite of an incel which would be a slut

curiouscollecting

If someone has a political view that would affect someone’s rights, it’s fine to end the friendship. Someone who believes that shouldn’t be the case (aka wouldn’t agree with you ending a friendship like that) would be considered ignorant or privileged in my book. That did become a bit more nuanced because of another convo I had in here but that’s about it.

curiouscollecting

Who said anything about calling names? I’m so confused

curiouscollecting

A slut?

curiouscollecting

Holy shit go to therapy.

  1. Me wanting 1 or 2 babies with my husband (in a different country than you?) doesn’t mean I want you paying for it
  2. I don’t want 10 fucking babies
  3. I’m not having them now because I’m making sure I can pay for it first
  4. If you ever get disabled/lose your job/get in a car wreck that’s your problem then too.

You can think whatever the fuck you wanna think but your behaviour is straight up misogynistic

curiouscollecting

Things should get better for women yes, but my body my choice also applies to this. I want a baby, I want a family with my husband and I want to be pregnant. You’re the one devaluing me, acting as if I lose my worth when I have a baby with a man. That’s gross

curiouscollecting

I’m a woman dating a man and I’ll be having kids with my husband without him paying for it. In the Netherlands (where I live) even a surrogate isn’t allowed to be paid

curiouscollecting

‘Whatsoever’ would cover that here. I didn’t say every friendship needs to be affected, I said it impacts friendships.

curiouscollecting

I didn’t say they were universal. People HERE in MY area have expressed it. ‘I see why you would think that way’ think what way? They told me?

curiouscollecting

And I don’t understand what that means. Is that entire sentence (a group uses the state to coerce values onto others) another way to say democracy or did I misunderstand the question?

curiouscollecting

Based on the last paragraph you’d agree with me btw

curiouscollecting

The question isn’t ’do you think it’s ignorant privileged or both’ it’s ’I believe it’s either ignorant privileged or both depending on the situation CHANGE MY VIEW’

curiouscollecting

Who said anything about coercion? I’m genuinely very confused where all of this came from

curiouscollecting

I’d say it’s privileged to be able to ignore it as there can be cases where someone’s views aren’t accepting of you. If someone tells me I shouldn’t be allowed to have rights that’s not acceptance. I’m sorry I don’t see how that would work. I don’t accept someone who believes I’m not equal no. Ignoring the fact that someone believes you aren’t equal doesn’t make them accepting 😅

curiouscollecting

I realised a bit ago that others see friends as what I see are just good acquaintances. I can be friendly with people that I disagree with, I can talk to them on a daily basis (work school hobby related) and enjoy their company, but they aren’t the closest people in my life to me
