They just don’t want to tour with a fifth person. More expensive and they don’t make a lot of money as it is, let alone any personal dynamics that might come of it.

I don’t really like it but I get it.

jmcgit

That's actually obsolete information, the entire campaign including add-ons is now expected to be complete by the end of November.

jmcgit

If we didn't like the first attempt to finish the story without George what makes you think we'll like the second?

jmcgit

This isn't a perfect solution but it's the best one I've found. I'll still get some of them from time to time but I don't think I've gotten more than 3-5 in the past two months. It could be a lot worse.

jmcgit

It happened in 2022 and could very easily happen again, yes

Though that's a $1500+ per person trip for most people. Honestly, if someone wanted to see them that bad they could fly to Europe for a similar price.

jmcgit

It's actually been quite a while since Pandemonium was regularly played

Still, I get the sentiment. I've just mostly accepted that it's not going to change, that this isn't the same band that called themselves Kamelot 20 years ago. If I want to go to a show with that material, I need to find one of the rare shows Khan performs. Even if Kamelot's going to bring back a Khan song that hasn't been played in a while, it's likely to just be something from Ghost Opera like the title track or The Human Stain.

jmcgit

They dropped Forever from the setlist so it’s really not all the same. For someone who is exclusively a fan of Roy’s era it’s worse, I don’t know if it’ll be long before they tour with zero Khan songs. I actually appreciated how much of their new material they want to play, but also I saw Khan’s tour earlier in the year so I already had my fill of that era.

jmcgit

I don't think the consensus would be nearly as overwhelming if you asked the question in 2008 but Lost has absolutely aged better.

jmcgit

I think the point is that the stories within some of the books are a little darker than what kids in the age range for picture books would usually enjoy. I considered backing the project for the sake of some kids in the family but decided against it for that reason. I'm really not sure how much small children would enjoy these books. All four stories were written for adults and then adapted into picture books because the author thought it would be fun.

jmcgit

Okay, but maybe prepare to be shocked then?

It’s a busy time of year for them between finishing fulfillment, then Nexus, then a wave of fulfillment for FoD bundles. Brandon’s clearly expressed that he wants to reduce holiday crunch for his team. I certainly could be wrong but they have so much on their plate already that I would not count on it.

jmcgit

I wouldn’t be surprised if they waited until January, but it will come.

It will probably be limited to Brandon’s online shop, I don’t think they’re coming to mainstream bookstores at all.

Didn't Rubio say a few days ago that Ukraine did not have access to Starshield, leaving out that until recently they did?

I'm tired of this 'is Trump or Musk to blame' question. It's both of them. Either one could solve the problem but neither thinks it's in their interest to do so.

jmcgit

Yeah, it's a shame that to see them headline in the US, you pretty much have to travel to a festival (Mad with Power and Mile High Power Fest both had them recently). I've done it twice (or three times if you count Khan's Epic Fest set) and they never disappoint.

jmcgit

Also, it had been a very successful show on Prime Video for the first three years. Half the reason Syfy cancelled it was that people don't want to watch their linear series on cable, they want to watch them on a streaming service. Syfy only had the broadcast rights because they started developing the show in the early-mid 2010s and streaming exclusives weren't really a thing.

jmcgit

For the purposes of Brandon Sanderson there's no such thing as a numbered but not signed book, and I don't expect that to ever change.

jmcgit

Sure. Just like Phil Coulson, they're just retired from movie appearances or something

jmcgit

Yep! I heard a rumor at that show from someone who would know that there were hopes of a 2026 larger tour with both bands, but clearly it didn't work out. Hopefully one day!

jmcgit

The Kamelot tour was the other way around, Hammerfall was the intended support act for the tour (alongside Ad Infinitum) and Seven Spires filled in for four shows that they couldn't do. Spires has gone on to do a bunch of tours alongside Ad Infinitum (east coast US and EU), so it seemed to spark something!

jmcgit

The characters it was a terrible idea for were not the main characters of the series. They weren't what the story was about. If they ended abruptly offscreen, or weren't perfectly told, it would have been a shame but it would have been better than the nothing we got.

jmcgit

After re-reads and such, I think Oathbringer may be my favorite of them, but I do notice a bit of a tone shift around that point that only escalates into the next two books. Some people attribute it to an editorial change, but Oathbringer was still with his original editor so I don't think that's it. I think the author just evolved over the years.

I wouldn't try to persuade you to keep going if you're already struggling to enjoy it.

jmcgit

Amani can just be neutral, like the Earthen. By the end of it, Orcs and Humans will be the only faction-locked race models, unless...

jmcgit

Probably why John Walker was brought into the MCU, to give Sam someone to be better than

jmcgit

I don’t think she tries to now, I think she’s comfortable tweaking the live arrangements a bit. Not sure about the first time, is all.

jmcgit

If I wanted to play Job Application Simulator I'd go outside

jmcgit

It's too bad that I've never been able to find a recording of their Denver Mile High Power Fest performance, the first time they played it. That performance was incredible, they had two guests out for the choir and made the trip out there worth it, but I couldn't tell you for sure if she hit the note there or not.

I was kinda hoping they'd be able to do something like that again at MWP, but no dice. I'd imagine it was a little more recent for Ty back then so it might have taken less practice, and he had a festival to run?
