Context:
The LEGO toy itself has a woman astronaut and features on the box a girl playing with it.

Amazon on the other hand lists the toy in a "Lego set for boys." (no matter how you end up on this page) Their "Lego set for girls" is all about friendship and pink dresses.
I do not know whether it is their algorithms found out what sells, or someone deciding what boys and girls respectively like, or rather, have to like.

Series I savings bonds are pretty good. They can be redeemed at par (minus a few months interest if redeemed before 5 years), increase with inflation, and have better yield than the treasury bond/TIPS market, and are tax deferred.

For the sake of an example, with a rate of 1.68% (source), the $10k generate approximately $160 after a year? (provided the inflation rate stays the same, and that the money is kept at least 12+3 months??)

If the economy improves, inflation rate increases, & so do my earnings?

Emergency fund

Where can I invest my emergency fund (say $10K), so that I have cash in a year, if I need it?

  • Money sitting in a savings account loses value (inflation around 2.3%)
  • Treasury bills/bonds? (is the interest around 1%? I am not sure how to read that)
  • ETF stocks? (say VOO?)
