Okay, I’ll put you on the list to notify. 😁
It’s… well, very adult, I should mention first. Far more on the sex side than the violence. It’s equal parts fix-it fic, Elsacest, and — ahem — Elsanna. There’s also some BDSM (consensual).
The story spans before, through, and after the movies and shorts, and actually leaves them intact, superficially at least. Theoretically you could watch them all after reading this, and be seeing my story. 🤣
What I’m upending are all the assumptions and implications that normal cinematic rules point to, but which the films never explicitly lay down in stone. Almost every speculation a character makes in the movies will turn out to be wrong, except for one key one.
It’s multiverse, to allow there to be two Elsas for the Elsacest (and two Annas as well), and it follows three storylines in parallel: “present day” which starts when the two Elsas meet a year after F2, and the backstory of each of them — one is the canon timeline that follows through the movies, and the other is an alternate timeline where the key difference is that the grandfather (King Runeard) is still alive and well as Elsa and Anna grow up (and if you find that to be a terrifying prospect, you’re right). It also covers the branch point between those two timelines, when a young Yelena flips a coin.
If you’re still interested, let me know if you have any questions. 😁

There had to have been at least one tutor, I figure.
The DYWBAS montage makes it look like she never saw anyone but her parents, but that could easily just be the fact that the sequence is highly selective, focusing on the core story. She could have had a daily schedule where she’d be out of the room to dine or to learn something, carefully orchestrated so as to (try to) keep her path from crossing Anna’s. She’d interact with Kai, Gerda, and a few others of the “minimal staff,” wearing her gloves and keeping a distance, but her contact wouldn’t be zero.

AO3. I’m writing it all before publishing, and hoping to have it all rolled out before F3 releases (144k words so far). If I publish chapters weekly, and the number of chapters is in the mid-20s, then my deadline to start publishing is in the March-April 2027 timeframe. 😅

So sweet!

His favorite role as well. Saw an interview he did at his home where he showed off a statuette someone had made of Checkov next to Bester, saying he thinks of that part of his career as the Checkov role being the stepping stone to the Bester role.

I’m a recent convert so I’m still in full obsessive mode. Which is compounded by the fact that that I’m writing a likely-200k-word fanfic that seeks to bend the movies and shorts to my will 🤣

I’m watching pieces of it at least that frequently, because I’m writing a big ‘ol fix-it fic for both movies and the two main shorts (OFA, FF).
I purchased both movies on Apple TV and can watch them whenever I want in 4K right on my 40” computer monitor that sits 3 feet from my face. It’s glorious! 😁

Jurassic Park, right when it came out.
In a college town, in a theater full of my fellow college students.
When the T-Rex stomped into full view, I yelled “Holy fuck” or something, very loudly, and I could barely hear myself over everybody else yelling.
That was a good time.

Btw I’ve watched that scene a bunch for a fic I’m writing, and while the yellow does match the emotion and tone of the scene, I’m pretty sure it’s technically meant to be the morning sunlight peeking between the clouds and coming into the palace. It’s not a self-glow like the red was.
Actually, wait, that red was right was happening at the tail end of the sunset, so that might’ve been sunlight as well.

Only partially. Hans was a villain, but not the villain. The primary antagonist of the movie was Elsa’s own fears, the source of which can’t be nailed down to any single character.
Otherwise, I agree. I can’t stand his damn lying face. 🤣
rabbitwonker
I think that applies to most fics based on kid-oriented material, no? 😁
I’m into the Frozen fandom, and, yeah, if you filter by the M or E ratings, you’ll get lots of hits. Even the T-rated ones are usually for pretty mature audiences.

In the fix-it fic I’m working on, I’m having to go to some significant lengths to explain this. Basically I’m having it that the lake water is magically poisoned, and so the Nokk refuses to touch it.
How is it poisoned? The poison — which is a potion — was spilled onto the dam during the Battle of the Forest. Runeard’s people had found vials of the potion and accompanying documentation that they interpreted poorly, making them think it was a potion to kill magical creatures. So Runeard loaded up a cart full of it with the intention to use it against the Spirits.
However the cart was overturned and spilled onto the dam, seeping down deep into its stone, and it ended up affecting the Earth Spirit. But it turns out it’s not a killing potion, it’s a loyalty potion, with a severe side effect of madness. The mage that created it was attempting a killing potion, but that’s all she managed to do.
So the Earth Giants became loyal to Runeard, but also kind of violently insane. They defended the dam, preventing any attempts by the Northuldra to destroy or damage it.
Anna happened to come up with the one solution that could get around that, effectively using the Giants’ own insanity against their loyalty, by goading them into throwing boulders into the dam.
The dam’s stone was then washed clean of the potion, freeing the Earth Spirit from its influence, but that also meant the flood water was contaminated with it.
And, therefore, the Nokk was all “hell no I’m not touching that stuff.”
Once the water mixed into the saltwater of the ocean, the potion was neutralized.
Whew!
No problem! That’s why I made sure to mention it 👍
I’ve been contemplating making a non-Elsanna version if this does well, but I’m not sure if it’ll work.
