No, we are not allowed to carry pepper spray or any other weapon.

BBC1 just aired a half hour documentary on Kevin, now Sir Kevin, Sinfield and his work to raise money for MND.
Prince of Wales, who supports and admires Kevin, featured several times and the programme ends with him knighting Kevin.

There are only extracts on Youtube but they are easy to find.

Yeah, as you suggest, we don't know how much is just being briefed from H and M, and how much indeed, the whole thing has been staged to win them public sympathy and a meeting with the King. But if that is the case, that is again short-termism. The stain of these allegations will not go away, long after their value in lobbying the King for a meeting is exhausted.
tmstms
I looked at the clip. She does not say the King WILL meet H and M, she says 'the hope is' which could well mean H and M's hope is.
tmstms
I agree with you- these allegations are obviously serious and the lack of clarity about them also reflects badly on other memebrs of the Markle family, especially Thomas junior.
This is not why I came to this sub, which was to laugh at the self-importance and delusion of H and M.
I do think it is likely this scandal does harm H and M. For example, all those posed As ever photos look even more fake and hollow now.
But the whole thing is obviously distasteful at best, and essentially disgusting in substance. I think it will be quite hard for H and M to deal with, and that is a very different situation from simply falling flat on one's face because one's nose is pointed so far up in the air.

It will depend both on the paper and the story, but it is routine that stories involving potential criminal cases will have comments disabled on serious papers. The divide between the serious papers and non-serious ones was more obvious in the past simply from their broadsheet v tabloid physical size, but by and large, the DM and the DE see themselves as the more middle market tbloids, so thrive onegagements and therefore comments. The serious papers are much more sparing about which stories allow comments, as they see themselves primarily as papers of news.
tmstms
Typically, there is a divide depending on who the paper is trying to appeal to. THe DM is clearly motivated by gettig clicks for engagement for stories aboiut the royals, and though is obviously anti H and M and pro RF, which is what its readership wants, is pretty keen to stoke both sides of the argument.

I have engaged with OP and I suppose my suspicion is that they might be AI or training AI. Is that what you mean?
tmstms
Exactly! Going to the cinema meant at some level gathering together and being out of the house afterwards.
tmstms
How would you get them to try?

My dad in law was a miner, so I DO know when they shut!
But remember the median age of a UK voter is 50 to 51.

A lot of Isak's goals seem to be based on his speed and quick reactions. And they dovetail well with people like Barcola and Ngumoha being quick and/or direct, and Wirtx being able to open defences up. As everyone always says, margins are small in the PL and on a moment of such speed, or a lucky bounce games can turn. Most PL teams press hard, and if one does not, that is often enough to lose the game of itself e.g. Man U.
In Europe, in general, people get more space and often time to play. The range of what can lead to a goal is actually bigger.
Maybe....!

It was indeed a great episode.
tmstms
Ummmm. Wrong thread? Did you mean the Princess Royal thread?

My life does have purpose! The mockery is what I read when I am relaxing.
If H and M did not wish to be on the receiving end of mockery and criticism, they should not behave so disgustingly to everybody, and H especially not to his own family.

Well, in practice, it is also easy just to dig the nettle up.
The metaphor dates from long before gradening gloves were much used.
But just looking up the history of it (1578 is apparently the first use, and there is another example from 1753), the theory seems to be different again- it is that if you are timid about holding the nettle, it stings, but if you hold it firmly, it does NOT sting (presumably because you crush the stinging side against itself). I have NOT found this true IRL- it always does sting and therefore you do need gloves or a garden implement.
tmstms
Speaking of my experience in the garden as the source of the metaphor, it is this:
Nettles straggle and have quite long roots. If you hold them gingerly and pull, then the top leaves come off but the root bit stays in situ and the nettle quickly grows again. If you hold the nettle very firmly and pull hard, you can pull the roots out as well.
Hence the idea is that you DO inflict pain on yourself at the moment of putting your hands on the nettle, but you then have the benefit of removing the weed (=resolving the issue), whereas someone who only holds the nettle half-heartedly can remove the top bit over and over again bt the nettle quickly grows back (the issue comes back).

Allegedly Thomas M's first wife.
tmstms
Yes- you are 100% right- the more comes out about the sleazy side of the Markles, the more surprising it is that M thought that even with whatever constraints there were, being a working royal was not a better option.
tmstms
I think Burnham foregrounding the Freedom of Movement issue is good and consistent with how he raises the big intractable issues (like social care/ triple lock).
FoM WAS/IS the big issue for most people about leaving/ rejoining the EU. Grasping the nettle is better than pretending there is a way round it.
However, there is a weakness as well as a strength about this approach. It is that one has great conversations about it and then does not get anywhere. So positions don't change over time.
tmstms
To answer literally, it is easy enough to say one is between jobs and looking in sector X.
It is only fundamental for people who make it so- the problem I have always had with it as a question is that it is a boring and predictable opener.

I dunno. I m definitely not a Nazi, but I love seeing WW2 stuff on the box, and I decry the fact something so grotesque has burnt down.
I think stuff like the Hitler birthplace (in Braunau?) which was repurposed because it threatened to become a Nazi shrine, is different because it is in an easily reached town.
This is a sort of landmark of 'nightmare tourism' for me.
I do remember going to Mauthausen, and Mrs tmstms was outraged it was not free to enter the bit where the prisoners lived and worked.

My mum in law always suggested that 'life is grumbling; and therefore that most small talk is grumbling.
A NEET has just as much to grumble about, so I don't suppose it is any harder for them.
It's only an issue for that one 'breaking the ice' question.
Could they perhaps make it a long break?
Like 40 years?
