Need trippy shows to watch

5 points · submitted Dec 2024 by u/russtrick

Before I get comments about “you should be out in nature, how can you watch shows when you’re tripping?” we already did that last weekend, spending a whole day at the beach and it was amazing. Those trips are great, but my wife and I also love a solid hibernation trip at home. We have colorful LED lights all throughout the house so it’s like living in a cartoon, and we are trying to watch new stuff tomorrow while dosed.

Top acid shows and movies on my list currently (could use some additions): Dream Corp LLC Rick and Morty PSI Cops South Park 3D movies Blue planet II Arcane Into the spider verse Lego Batman Everything everywhere all at once Both avatar movies Incredibles II

We need some good funny stuff and stuff that’s super trippy like Dream Corp. animated is always a plus. We’re basically mainly looking for funny shit and eye candy, movies that show off special effects, etc., in 4K or 3D.

I really enjoyed Love Death + Robots. It's an anthology on Netflix, 2 series so far. Each episode is animated in diff styles also. Really trippy imo.

Yeah, there were some good episodes in that show for sure. Good call

There’s a gaming-centric one out on Amazon called Secret Level, some of them are great.

100% and 96% on RT. “Disturbing and wondrous, Scavengers Reign presents a vividly realized world that beckons exploration by its marooned characters and television viewers alike.”

Paprika. It's the anime Inception basically ripped off. It's as trippy as it gets.

If I remember there's some odd SAish vibes at the end of the movie. My partner was thrown off a bit, thought I should add a warning. Great trip movie besides that!

Adventure Time is amazing. Seasons 6 and 8 especially

Strange_Ad_8699 2 points · Dec 2024

Coraline has still been my favourite thing to watch while tripping and I don't think it will ever change, it's already such a trippy movie and taking acid watching it elevates it to a whole other level.

I took some for the recent general election in the US. We mostly just chatted and juggled with vision clubs while a static results map automatically updated on a laptop in the corner. So yeah, I agree, hibernation trips can be a great time.

As for TV, I suggest prehistoric planet

Scavengers reign, or adventure time. Also the yellow submarine movie is perfect, it was made for this.
