He's just not hungry yet.

hitemplo [OP]

Or he already ate, and nature doesn't kill where it doesn't need to because nature is fucking 🔥

Mande1baum

well that's demonstrably false in about a billion ways. Domesticated cats alone account for the first few million examples.

hitemplo [OP]

Cats are not snakes, who only eat once a week/day or so depending on the snake, and cats don't need to reserve energy in order to digest prey like cold-blooded animals do. My umbrella point is that snakes are not cats.

But yes, as a cat owner, I can attest to your point - I just posted a picture of my own very not-hungry cat playing with a cricket on r/jellybeantoes.

There is a series of these reptile/amphibian photos from the flood here , if you'd like to see.

Cats were specifically bred by humans to hunt even when not hungry.

slavefeet918

Cats are far from the only animals too kill needlessly

Best example of friendship!!

So like i said...... he's just not hungry yet. And you have a ridiculous arguement anyway. Go for a swim in the Adelaide river in the NT and watch a crocodile not fuck you up because "he just ate"

hitemplo [OP]

No need to be cruel.

DoubleJumpNinja

So I’m guessing no one noticed the 2nd frog under the first one

LaserReptar

Or the third one behind the snek

All jokes aside, can someone explain how these frogs are so comfortable in the presence of that snake? Does that snake not eat frogs, in general? Is it common in nature for this to happen? (Predators and prey hanging around like nothing is wrong?)

hitemplo [OP]

There isn't enough space on the ground for anyone because of the flood; any animal who can't fly or doesn't have a defence against their nest flooding needs to share the usable spaces above the flood (in this case on a tree) or risk dying. The photographer caught a snake who just isn't hungry. Snakes need a lot of energy to digest an animal and if they've recently eaten they won't eat another one, especially in a flood like this where they might need that energy for something else (like swimming). These animals have had their homes turned upside down and are more worried about surviving these conditions than eating, in this photograph.

Man, many humans could learn from animals behaviour.
