wow.
last month, my grandpa fell down the stairs and suffered enough severe brain bleeding that we had to make the decision to let him go. he wasn't going to make it through.
he passed away on tuesday, november 1st.
his funeral was that weekend.
my grandma was heartbroken, but she remained strong.
tuesday, november 8th.
my dad calls me at work and tells me he went over to grandma's house and found her gone. she passed away, seemingly in her sleep.
a literal week later on the dot, and she's gone too.
edit: thank you all for your condolences, and thank you for the award. i think it's absolutely wicked... how dying of a broken heart can be a very real reality.
it was so very shocking. my grandma put on a really good face. i mean, she was upset and grieving like everyone else, but she did go out of her way to make us laugh through it all. she kept saying to the family that after all of this is over, she needs some time to herself. nobody needs to call her, she needs to figure out how to live on her own again.
so, we said that "love called her home".
I’m so sorry
im sorry
That really sucks 😔
They were together for 73 years...hard to imagine losing someone that you've known longer than most people have been alive and trying to go on. At least they weren't separated for long and are together again.
For real. I've only been with my wife for 16 years but I still can't imagine losing her. Being with someone for 73 years and then losing them. I can't even.
I worked as an stna in a few nursing homes for almost 6 years and witnessed this happen over and over again. Im 40 years old now but worked in a nursing home from ages 17-22 plus. I witnessed many deaths when I was a nursing assistant and most of the time, it was a husband or wife would pass and either the same day or a couple of days would pass and the spouse would pass as well. Health didn't seem to matter. True love is an amazing thing.
May those who loved them find peace in their memories.
My grandpa died 3 days after my grandma without even being told she died. They were both in the hospital but mostly for age other than active disease. So she died, they didn't tell him, but somehow he just knew.
Couldn't really blame him.
Well damn
Oh - that is so sad. Peace to their family and friends.
Oh wow she died from heartbreak 😭
This same situation happend to my neighbors, his wife died 3 days earlier and then he died
I've been going to training for the past 3 months in Akron and since the sign. Said I was going to stop one of these times. Sad to hear!

What makes you think that? In 2016, they welcomed Hillary to park in their lot after Fin, Feather, Fur kindly asked the bus to not be in their lot. I saw it
Damn that sucks I liked fin feather fur
Are you...surprised they did this?
No but I just bought a pair of cute boots from there for this winter 😔
I feel it, giving money to many of the area's businesses always feels ethically compromising. Shopping at stores like the Fin feels a lot like funding actual terrorism sometimes.
I love the choices we have in Ohio between mega corporations and politically extreme local businesses 😍
Ty for making it political ✌️
I believe he simply pointed out the fact that THEY made it political
Wow. Must be suck having to make all your own goods so you don’t have to give money to anyone that might have differing views.
Some of those differing views are that my neighbors should be killed.
Can you link the article?

I can't find any info about their donation history and shit. What regressive politics did they support?

Are we doing enough to protect our cheesebarn population?

As cheesy as that sounds I think you’re right.

I belive its actually true. There is a lot of stories of people losing a spouse hours after death and sometimes they aren't even in the same place.

It is true and it's called "broken heart syndrom"

My grandpa died exactly two months after my grandma.

My grandma has been strictly forbidden from dying until I graduate college in august. I told her when he passed that she wasn’t allowed to until she saw me graduate from college since that was what Popper (my grandpa) wanted to see. Been 6 years since grandpa passed and she has someone to talk to and grieve with now so I have no doubts she’ll be around another decade or so.

Poor execution let alone the shitty time to say that

My grandpa always said the same thing about his father, once his wife went he wasn’t far behind. Grandpa always said his father died of a broken heart.
