This Schrödinger’s bat is frying me? Is it lethal or non lethal?

Go hit somebody and find out
They’ll probably just disintegrate
Or spawn a clone and then die.
Well, yes but then schrodinger is right. We wanna know without
I mean...part of the experiment is that you can only figure out by looking
The pipe is non-lethal by default, so I don't know if you can even put a non-lethal mod on it without making it lethal first. So my assumption is it's disabling the lethal portion of the first mod and making it non-lethal again.
But it can still cause bleeding which could lead to them dying after you knock them unconscious?
if they die from bleeding effect, do they die, or do you get the red target on them to actually kill them like with poison?
Dunno. If they are cyberpsychos are they alive long enough to tell Regina you left them alive?
All good questions.
One of the early psychos I fought was still squirming around on the floor hours later when I happened by the same area for something else. Regina certainly takes her time picking those guys up.
Good thing we be subduing them like Batman.
You can pick them up as loot like this with lethal + non-lethal mods, I usually just trash scavenged stuff but have gotten lead pipes of varying quality with this setup from random shoot-outs. Never seen one at tier 5/gold though, they seem more likely to show up like this as tier 3 or 4
They messed up lethality in 2.0, it feels like every weapon is non leathal, until you hit the enemy 1 more time
Unless you try to hide the body of someone knocked out
then it's always lethal
Tbf alot of the places you hide the bodies presumably dont have any foot traffic and leaving someone into a locked container is normally lethal if nobody lets them out
The question is that there were different containers before 2.0, both lethal and non-lethal, now they are all lethal
No, all containers have always been lethal since launch day, it's just that they labelled them with 2.0 to make it more clear.
EDIT: Even the option to knock out and then hide the enemy counted as lethal under the hood, they removed it as a feature because it was confusing.
It's a safety against softlocking yourself by non-lethally hiding a corpse you may need if the game still believes that NPC to be alive. For example, most of the assasination gig targets.
The prologue scav mission is where it's most obvious, Jackie will comment that he would do that different as if you killed that scav
before 2.0 you could non-lethally put the body into the container and the dialogue was 100% different
Yes it gave you the option but mechanically it all functioned as lethal anyways.
Hitman doesn't let you hide unconscious targets for this reason. You'd think they'd just add a flag...
Some of them do feel a tad odd
If i throw a dude in a dumpster i dont think its gonna kill him as long as he wakes up later on and gets out of it
That annoyed the fuck out of me with the 2.0 update. Why was that considered lethal-only all of a sudden?!
They were all always lethal, something to do with the games coding meant enemies left alive but then hidden were marked as killed, which messed with some gigs/jobs.
I assume they were unable to change it, so they labelled all the containers as lethal so at least players wouldn't be confused why enemies they explicitly did not kill were suddenly dead when the fixers text came through.
Depends. Power pistols, as I've observed, ignore that "last bullet" incapacitation. Even when you aim for the legs, it straights up dismembers the leg and kills the opponent.
More often it seems to just blow a lethal hole through the limb for me.
I mean fuck it I guess it makes sense. It's a gun. I'm shooting you. But fuuuuck bro.
Could be rubber bullets. It’d hurt and bruise but shouldn’t be blowing anyone’s limbs off (in theory)
Rubber bullets are considered "less lethal". You can very easily kill someone with rubber bullets, it won't be pretty for the internal organs, you might need a few more round than if it was iron and your target will most likely die of internal bleeding instead of open wounds but they will die.
And using one of those cyberpunk tech weapons? Yeah the limbs will explode.
That explains why I always manage to take cyberpsychos alive even when I'm just blasting them with a shotgun.
Genuinely why can I throw a knife through a person's whole ass skull and they're still breathing
They had good dice rolls
Phineas gage
Nah, the final hit of any bladed weapon in my case wil just remove a limb or head.
It depends on the weapon or enemy. Blunt melee weapons are always non-lethal (unless you equip the mod used above) and cyberspychos for Regina’s quest will always automatically survive at 1 life to make it easier to not kill them.
It's based on difficulty settings I believe.
Dude i mag dumped a scav in the head with dual pistols and this mf was still breathing
Like ethier scavs are on enough cyber crack to ignore their daily dose of hot iron or V replaced their bullets with batman approved bullets
Blunt weapons are all non-lethal. If the final bullet that takes them down is a body or limb shot, it's more likely to be non-lethal. Bladed weapons have a chance to be non-lethal. The only reason to use non-lethal normally are missions where there's an alternate path for being a pacifist.
The game crashes because it doesn't even know
Anyone hit by it is granted immortality and forced to live a meaningless existence, watching all of their loved ones pass away whilst they live on.
A black hole appears after every hit
It's like Hollow Purple.
I really hope in Orion we get more non-lethal options, you can tell they had it in mind during development but it doesn't really work
We already have the BFC 9000, what other non lethal option do you need?
They'll get sent to Limbo. The place between life and death
beat a cyberphyso and find out
Do you want cyberzombies? Because that's how you get cyberzombies.
Short answer: "Yes."
I guess you could say it is both lethal AND non lethal. We can’t know until the bat’s effects are observed. It exists in superposition
What’s the point of lethal vs non-lethal anyway? That won’t stall your progress will it?
taking out cyberpsychos without killing them, pacifist route, roleplaying, other reasons I'm probably missing
i like being given the option
Cyberpsychos are special in the they can't die to the hit that empties their health bar, you can put a sniper round through their face when they are on 1% hp and they will survive unless you shoot them again when they are knocked out.
oh sweet thanks for the info, will make it way faster than having to worry about switching to something less lethal
It wasn't always like this. Also USUALLY aoes like fire or shock won't still kill them but sometimes it will.
general gaming tip always be extra careful with stuff that procs multiple times
Some missions give you better rewards for not killing a target, you can basically play the entire game without killing anyone
Could be a cut morality system where certain romances don’t want you to kill people/do want you too. But it is good for role playing (Batman no kill rule runs) and a way to lessen the gore for people who don’t like it.
Nah its for a lot of quests. Certain characters, and ESPECIALLY a few of the fixers, have pretty specific preferences for some missions. There's quite a few fixer gigs where you lose out on a big chunk of cash and make the fixer angry if you go loud
Some jobs with fixers you get a bonus for not killing the target and delivering them unconscious to a car.
Mission requirements honestly. Or preferences.
Cyber-Psychos. Did the same thing with a non-lethal weapon to take them in without killing them for the bonus reward, before unlocking Electric Gorilla Arms since they are a much better choice imo. Plus, people like to play games to see if they can beat them non-lethaly.
There's quests that care whether you flatline people or not. Also, forcing people to kill enemies in the game would be against a lot of the narratives being communicated extensively so even if there's no actual game points or achievements for it giving players the option to not kill would be giving some agency to not give into the game world's pressures.
Purgatory
Guts is usually lethal
Yes.
Death from waist up
First hit nonlethal. Once they're down, make the heads explode.
Yes. Yes it is.
anything is lethal if you hit someone hard enough with it
won't know until you open box
I think it takes a screenshot
You'll just have to observe the outcome.
Its a super position of both until you collapse the skull function with it.
About the same percentage as hitting someone with a real pipe on lethality
+5 Non-un-less-lethal Steel Pipe of Bleeding
Simple It turns them into liquid Not dead or alive jist liquid
I Wish we had more iconic blunt weapons
I mean if you hit someone enough with something I'm sure it eventually becomes lethal
Yesn't
Non-lethal til its not
I use blunt weapons bc I’m a pacifist. I explode when attacked bc I love chaos.
This has been a joke for a while but to my knowledge no one's tested it and came back with an answer.
Depends on how hard you hit.
Yesn't
I love getting those as random, especially on something that is super-obviously lethal (or not)
Lethally non lethal
Idk I remember we would be able to get double exp by doing non lethal kills, and than doing lethal kills on the same enemy
