Warframe FINALLY hooked me!!

I think I played 6 hours straight and can't wait to discover more!

I wish the game wouldn't fail so hard in explaining its strengths and hiding its good bits behind artificial progression-blockers.

Because the advice everyone gave me was "explore the galaxy-chart" ... and I can't believe I fell for this absolute waste of time!!

Have you tried to TROLL me ffs?!

I restarted the story from scratch. And it gripped me! o0

Finishing its chapters opens up the game more and more, I learn more about the world and get currency and weapons and upgrades for free! (and I guess this will unlock the galaxy more) ... and it looks sooooo good while doing it!!

Why is this game trying so hard in hiding how yummy it actually is?

Maybe the Tenno shouldnt be walking around in its space-ship and you could make a simple screen with options (like Aquanox 2 ?) and not shower the player with confusing popups everywhere? idk.

I mean you kinda need to explore the star chart in order to unlock new quests soooo

Wise_Owl5404

Exploring the star chart and progressing the story goes hand in hand. And frankly, the grinds nodes and the farming IS the gameplay. The story is great but it's really just there as a meta explanation for the farming.

Not anymore I just revised the route toward the first big quest on Warframe, you no longer are required to interact with mercury, Ceres, Phobos and the void unless I'm missing argon crystals for a blueprint you can skip those four places up to the second dream.

Wise_Owl5404

Oh thank god. I hadn't noticed that update. Thought they might want to update Teshin's mail post Teacher since it directs new Tenno to Fortune giving the illusion that you need to do this part.

Okami512

I'm trying to get into it but I'm hitting a wall with getting stomped in missions and not actually seeing any path to progress. It's getting really frustrating.

alexanderatprime

Have you gotten to Venus yet? The boss there will drop warframe parts to a warframe that most people hang on to for a long time until they can get more resources to power up.

Okami512

Rhino? Yeah.

Still can't get through any of the open world missions on Fortuna just to get the mining leader.

alexanderatprime

Move through the star chart. The open world stuff can be tough especially when those enemies swarm you.

Wise_Owl5404

The problem is that the Vox Solaris quest is mandatory for unlocking Mercury junction now, so skipping it is not a option.

alexanderatprime

My bad, I haven't been a new player in a very long time. Fortuna wasn't a thing when I was a young tenno.

Wise_Owl5404

I apologize if this comes across as rude because that's not my intention, but sometimes I wish veteran Tenno would check up on what requirements for early game stuff such as Junctions is these days and what new player experience is like because it's changed massively.

Even just from I start in February 2025 and until now there's some major overhauls so things that I faced when new is no longer relevant but otoh new Tenno are faced with stuff I didn't have to deal with. Because when giving advice without knowing what new player is like and what new players face, advice given is often unhelpful at best, discouraging at worst.

alexanderatprime

Sure, that's fair. But my point still stands. Focus on the star chart is solid advice. Farm mods, farm resources, farm weapons.

Wise_Owl5404

Not much you can farm at that point that'll help. Frankly I think the next pain point they'll need to fix is Vox Solaris, if nothing else dial down the level and the mob intensity.

alexanderatprime

I don't see how that can be the case. Farming the primary damage mods is possible, leveling up redirection and vitality is possible.

Out of curiosity, I'm going to make a new account.

Yeah the open worlds can be a beginner trap. Move past them and go back when you feel ready, think of them as long term goals that you do a bit at a time rather than doing everything at once.

Lyreganem

Move on. Do star-chart / story stuff, explore other things, come back.

For most of your WF career you will have near-endless options to explore in every direction, and all of them will ultimately contribute to you getting better and more powerful.

Wise_Owl5404

To unlock Mercury you need to do Vox Solaris, so not doing open world isn't an option.

Have you modded your frame and weapons outside what the Teacher quest demands? If not I can give you a few tips that might help.

FractalShoggoth

In my experience, the reason this most often happens is because modding is still not properly explained/emphasized in-game, even with The Teacher quest and the junction requirements. Specifically the mod upgrading part (using credits and "endo").

Unlike other games with "cards", the interaction between mods comes into play more in the mid to late game. Early on, what you want to do is upgrade your main damage and survival mods. Don't worry about all the empty mod slots you'll end up with.

For example, consider the standard rifle damage mod, Serration. At base level, it costs 4 mod capacity and gives you +15% damage per shot. But if you upgrade it four times, it now costs 8 mod capacity and gives you +75% damage per shot. That's a huge difference, and well worth sacrificing some other 4 capacity mod you may have on your rifle.

For MR farming try to search online for Mastery Checklist excel file , probably first you see , posted in warframe forums or steam forums

Rhino and Hek all the way to steel path

some good rewards in side quests/warframe quests no need to rush main quests

Also customize controls, for what you feel comfortable, i have a mouse with side buttons i use it as a melee heavy attact and even archwing shortcut

The wiki is good guide
