A succulent pot

Here is the first of a batch of lidded trinket jars I’m making. I started making these a few years ago and need to replenish my supply. This one holds probably about 6 fluid ounces (why are US volumes so weird?).

Well done!! As a testament to your skill i spent a while wondering what you’d put on top of your soil to make it white and whether those things were rocks or some kind of seed.

I also briefly thought it was cereal in milk though, so maybe i’m just sleepy and confused since i just woke up…

Beautiful work. I never would have realized it was a jar.

On first glance I was fooled and thought you were showing us your planter. Beautiful work and great concept!

These are gorgeous! Would you share that the green glaze on the pot is?

small_spider_liker [OP]

Sure. All the glazes I use are made in house by our glaze techs, so if you want something similar you can look up recipes on Glazy. It’s a cone 10 glaze called Opalescent Green, and it usually breaks really dramatically over shino glazes. Here it’s applied over a gold shino, but it’s not breaking as much as usual.

This is applied on an iron-rich stoneware fired to cone10 in reduction.

Echoing the comments that didn't realize it was a lidded jar, I just loved the smooth consistent surface of the "pot".

Mind blown when I realized the succulent and rocks were also ceramics. Well done! The lid fits so well and it's amazingly decorated.
