https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10-04/victoria-liberals-elective-surgery-labor-land-tax/107224800

I don’t know about a quote, but the context is that the state would be paying private hospitals (which have capacity) to treat public patients.

A warrant without even being accused, or under investigation? And the permission to “change” your data? You can’t ever see that being used maliciously?

I’m personally just going to keep voting for the party that tries to stop this in the first place.

HelpMeOverHere

Here are some examples of a compromised digital space.

The Labor and Liberal parties voted to pass the Surveillance Legislation Amendment (Identify and Disrupt) Bill 2020.

“Network activity warrants allow the AFP or ACIC to monitor online activity, without investigating or accusing a person of a crime. Account takeover warrants enable police to take over an account and change their data”

The greens voted against it.

The Telecommunications and Other Legislation Amendment (Assistance and Access) Act 2018 is an Australian law that gives law enforcement and intelligence agencies new powers to access encrypted communications

Voted in by Lib/Lab. Voted against by the greens.

Less internet spying, but still more authoritarianism.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-27/why-some-asio-most-controversial-powers-have-been-expanded/107084866

“Legislation that went before the Senate last week wound up passing with the broad support of both Labor and the Coalition.”

What a shock. Voted against by the Greens

HelpMeOverHere

Way to generalise.

This act was condemned by the union, wasn’t it?

HelpMeOverHere

Isn’t this the state where ICE acts unimpeded and even killed somebody with no consequences?

HelpMeOverHere

Answer the question.

Do you believe that smoking can cause lung cancer?

HelpMeOverHere

Holy Swiss cheese brain my guy.

You are beyond help.

HelpMeOverHere

Do you believe smoking causes lung cancer?

HelpMeOverHere

Point out the culture wars then, by all means.

Link me to it.

HelpMeOverHere

lol. Can’t even get my name right.

That’s the attention to detail I’d expect from an anti-education far-right supporter.

Hey real quick. Do you trust the overwhelming majority of scientists that say climate change has been accelerated due to humans?

HelpMeOverHere

Brilliant rebuttal.

You genuinely going to deny they’re anti-science?

HelpMeOverHere

Except that they are far-right.

They think it’s wrong to teach consent, they are doing the whole anti-trans shtick, anti abortion, religion-first ideology etc, refuses or rejects sound science and empirical evidence.

The have totally abandoned what Menzies was all about. Menzies government had high taxes on the wealthy, which built the nation. Could you imagine modern Liberals doing that? No.

The modern day LNP is all about how much wealth they can extract from government coffers for their mates. They are no longer classic conservatives.

HelpMeOverHere

Like one nation, when Pauline blamed women for the violence they endure?

One nation also doesn’t think companies should pay maternity leave, just FYI.

Is that agreeable to you?

HelpMeOverHere

Renewables are the already cheapest form of electricity generation, that’s why.

Nuclear is only a smokescreen so the LNP can use the incredibly long construction periods to bolster fossil fuels.

HelpMeOverHere

When did you last look at any of their socials or even just their own website?!

It’s majority jam packed with domestic issues.

The last, last time this came up, I went through their FB page and this was the order of posts I found:

This was from a quick glance at their Facebook

- Taxing Gas
- Taxing the wealthy
- Make price gouging illegal
- The immigration system that lib/lab created
- The dangers of US owned AI companies
- No more coal and gas
- The floods in Nepal
- Floating idea of a public bank
- Criticising the National Cabinet on AI
- A moratorium on data centres
- FOUR DAY WORK WEEK
- Anti AI data centres
- Toll roads are a scam
- No data centres
- Bird flu / stop destroying their habitats
- Ban political donations

Then the LAST time I heard this “culture war” bullshit, I went and checked again:

- cost of living, right off the bat
- taxing billionaires and wealth
- more cost of living
- ATO reports more than 1 in 4 big companies pay no tax
- Labor approving massive coal mine extensions
- ATO again
- a post thanking Larissa for her time as leader
- Some David Shoebridge is leader posts
- Privatisation has failed us
- our domestic violence epidemic and how Labor underfunds frontline services
- Sanctioning Israel
- Greens will stand up to big corporations
- AI hacking Medicare
- The majors using immigrants as scapegoats (which they are)
- En Nino
- Record corporate profits
- Anti AI
- domestic violence epidemic
- big corporations and taxing billionaires
- anti data centre and AI

And now just for you, on Sunday, 25th of October, I have checked again. This is the order of posts that appeared:

- Join the Greens, who will go after billionaires and wealth
- Shoebridge video about replacing Labor
- National press club post
- Video about broken system under Labor/LNP
- Taxing the 1%
- Economy that works for the wealthy
- Taxing extreme wealth
- Liveable planet
- Government should make people’s lives better
- 1 in 4 big corps paid no tax last year
- NAB making record profits and then firing employees
- Banks making billions in profits
- Duty of Care bill discussion
- Privatisation is bad
- Taxing the 1%
- You pay taxes, but corporations don’t
- Labor wanting to rip billions away from pensioners
- Cost of Living
- Billionaires and record profits

And I gave up because there are no culture wars that you promised.

I’m going to keep adding to this list every time I hear “culture wars”.

You just aren’t paying attention.

There are around 820,000 people on jobseeker.

Total job vacancies for August was 325,000

Do you see the issue there? That’s just jobseeker.

Also “dole bludgers” is a myth brought to you by A Current Affair. The vast majority of people want to work.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-07/could-you-live-on-jobseeker-payments/106866554

Can you really live off of that?!

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2025/nov/03/majority-jobseekers-unable-to-get-long-term-work-despite-private-agencies

And ask yourself what the fuck the government is doing wasting so much money on job “providers”.

The whole system needs to be overhauled, and we absolutely need to increase the payments.

HelpMeOverHere

This is almost verbatim from her press club speech.

Q: Do you support workers?

A: I support workers. Business owners tell me it’s too hard to fire people these days, and that workers are lazy. We need to change that so it’s easier to fire workers. Why should businesses pay maternity leave? They shouldn’t have to pay it!

If you have a job, and you vote for one nation…, what a fucking piss take.

HelpMeOverHere

Sounds like you’re going to be a one nation voter.

In your own words, why are you voting for them?

HelpMeOverHere

https://i.redd.it/un3j1bnyp5xh1.gif

This is what you sound like.

HelpMeOverHere

There is literally a sadposting sub that made my feed ONE time. Immediately filtered it.

Who the heck is actually searching out depressing content?!

HelpMeOverHere

Nah, let’s forget about trying to profit from a silly little human right like shelter.

Maybe invest in things that will actually have a net positive on the economy instead of unproductive housing.

HelpMeOverHere

Why are you just plan ignoring that this the GREENS PARTY.

They are greenies…. They don’t support war.

Why is it so flipping bad that they stick to their principles?!

Why isn’t it refreshing for a change?!

You want them to start handing out weapons to everybody? The GREENS??!!

You criticise the greens for a position they’ve held most of their existence, and then you tell me you’re going to vote for the status quo party that supports the rotten-to-the-core policies, and countries of the US and Israel, no matter how many wars they drag out or start? Or how many Australians they kill and torture.

It’s just so fucking obvious that all this is performative outage.

Just look at all the shit you swallow from Labor including disastrous foreign policy decisions.

But you’ll still vote for them….

HelpMeOverHere

Lmao what a pathetic copout. Too scared to say who you really support.

I think it’s pretty clear that I support the greens, dumbass.

I want a four day work week already, plus all the other good shit they’re promising.

HelpMeOverHere

1 view and 1 downvote? Have you always been such a fragile pussy?

It’s not bending over for the aggressor, It’s re-assessing Australia’s role in the conflict.

I’m glad you think Labor is about positive change. Let’s go over their positive changes eh?

Remember how they team up with the LNP to approve every mass surveillance and spy bill? Forcing in back doors and warrantless spying and account hijacking.

Remember how they teamed up to water down political donation laws?

Remember when lib/lab teamed up to hobble the NACC so badly that it couldn’t even prosecute a single person for robodebt?

Remember that Labor also illegally withheld hundreds of thousands of welfare payments?

Remember when Labor introduced a black box AI to determine NDIS participant funding, and the black box cannot be overruled by veteran assessors? Oh and that Labor is also kicking out thousands of participants and forcing them onto states who dont have the frameworks established to support them?

Remember that time Labor acknowledged welfare recipients live of BELOW the poverty line payments, but has time and time again ruled out increasing these payments?

Remember all the coal mine extensions that Labor are approving, and the huge gas exploration project?

WA Labor is letting Alcoa destroy our only Jarrah forest beyond rehabilitation and Labor exempted them from the law. Oh, and they’re also destroying a critically endangered parrots “protected” habitat.

You have such a cult-like, no-one-is-home brain dead take on politics.

I think I’ll ignore anything else you have to say,
