I’ve you’ve never heard of a fixed term contract, I get the concept can be confusing.
They can be as short as months, they can be as long as years, they can be extended.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
HelpMeOverHere
I literally provided an alternative solution and it works quite well in my country.
Full time, fixed term contract. They can be extended you know. But at least you always have a definite end date.
You people are actually insane. Do you get four weeks of paid annual leave, and paid personal days? I do.

In the context of the poll, the 2PP is actually LNP vs Labor. And tbh, it’s fairly representative of how I feel personally at the moment.
Not that I’d prefer the LNP, but there are a lot of swing voters, and if they’re unhappy with Albanese’s government, they were only going to go the only other option in a 2PP. I get it.
Labor are simply not meeting the moment.
HelpMeOverHere
When did massive quick changes last get someone thrown out?
We had nine years of massive changes under the LNP, so I won’t take that excuse.
I don’t have 25-30 years for Labor’s incremental changes to play out. And neither do the rising number of one nation supporters it seems.
This is actually what maintaining the status quo gets us. The wealth inequality divide has only gotten bigger and Labor are still selling us out to the billionaire class. I’m so sick of it, it’s so blatant these days, they don’t even hide it.
Mass, sweeping changes can come in to recoup lost tobacco excise, and I’m sure mass weeping changes will come in to allow for AI to violate Australian copyright and god knows whatever else.
They just won’t make mass, sweeping changes that will give us progress. They NEVER go far enough when it’s needed
HelpMeOverHere
I would happily take a minority Labor government. We would at least see progress then.
Edit: our poor welfare outcomes are the result of both liberal and Labor. They both restricted the disability pension so much that’s it’s practically impossible to qualify for now. Albanese’s mum got the DSP, but my mum gets humiliating job seeker payments and forced meetings when no one will hire her. These are labor policies that affect my mum. Don’t you dare excuse Labor’s mistreatment of people on welfare. They could fix it any day, but they outright say they won’t! It’s Labor kicking participants off the NDIS, it’s Labor using AI to give them inadequate plan funding.
Labor are disgraceful when it comes to welfare all on their own. Unless it’s foreign owned mining companies, then it’s tax breaks and subsidies all around.
HelpMeOverHere
Lmao. I’m not a one nation voter.
There’s way better choices. And I still preference Labor ahead of any right wing parties so calm your tits.

I’m not saying restructuring and redundancies don’t occur in other countries, but I reckon dollars to donuts that most of these other western countries have far better employment protections with generous compensation packages, and you definitely do not see the same mass cullings that regularly occur in the US.
It’s just mind boggling to me that it’s a regular occurrence and nobody bats an eye at it.
HelpMeOverHere
Don’t forget these
The Albanese government is implementing a blackbox AI that determines NDIS participant funding, that also cannot be overruled by veteran assessors who know they’re inadequate.
Or Labor leaving our welfare recipients on below-poverty payments. They have acknowledged it, but have time and time again ruled out increasing these payments that force people into debt.
Jobseekers are also spending longer on the program than ever before, and we’re paying billions a year to job “providers” for these worse outcomes.
Labor continued with the Indue card (LNP donor program), but just removed the word “Indue” from the cards.
Labor are the new environmental vandals. Countless coal mine and gas project approvals in the face of missing the 1.5°C warming target. Albanese personally shelved the EPA legislation that Tanya Plibersek was working on because Roger Cook (WA Labor premier) asked him to on behalf of the mining industry after a lovely luncheon. State Labor in NSW and WA are turbocharging habitat destructions. WA’s only jarrah forest is now beyond rehabilitation, and all Labor did was exempt them from the law.
Albanese’s government is less transparent than Morrison’s, and has refused a larger percentage of FOI requests. The Albanese government also was forced to drop their legislation which was going to force high costs onto the requestors, and wanted to be able to issue blanket “nos” in circumstances that required “too much work”.
The Albanese government kneecapped the NACC so horribly it couldn’t prosecute a single person for Robodebt… on several occasions. It’s been mired in controversy literally since its inception in 2023.
Labor tried to negotiate with the LNP the water down our political donation laws.
Labor will not do anything about gambling ads, despite Australians being the largest losers in the world to gambling. Over $1500 is lost per adult each year. Not each gambling adult, $1500 lost for every Australian adult!!!
Labor has huge ties to the club industry and their state parties take in millions a year from gambling.
3 in 4 Australians also want gambling ads banned, but the industry took Labor Minister Michelle Rowland out for her birthday a couple years back, she defended it and then their party did nothing about gambling ads.
Speaking of their tax changes, Labor Commissioned Ken Henry, an ex treasury boss to review our tax system 15 years ago. His recommendations are still largely ignored and all he could say of Labor’s recent changes were that they are a good first start…. 15 years later.
Facebook launched in Australia over 20 years ago and Labor are fumbling the ball on barely regulating them now. Social media, particularly Facebook has caused so much irreparable harm. The whole world literally knows they were interfering in the Brazilian election but nobody has said anything.
Its the same with media reform. Keven Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull both know that Murdoch is a cancer to democracy. Keven Rudd attracted 500,000 Australian signatures for a royal commission that Labor, his own party ignores.
Labor and greens senators voted for a judicial inquiry into the media instead and this was still shot down by Michelle Rowland (The minister who was wined and dined by sports betting companies) was the one to announce that Labor won’t be taking up that policy…. Even though their own senators backed it. Rudd also says that Michelle Rowland is very close friends with Murdoch.
January 6th happened, in large part because Fox News was perpetuating election lies to millions of people. In the dominion lawsuit, Murdoch testified in his own words that he could have stopped the lying but he didn’t.
How the hell was this man and his media empire here allowed a free pass?!
I could honestly keep going in literally any policy portfolio you give me.
Labor should be a 2nd preference at best. Nothing above deserves anything higher. There are far better choices that would drag Labor to do the right thing.

All you’re doing is defending indefensible business practices.
Why aren’t you advocating for better instead of explaining how you think it works?
It doesn’t work like this in a lot of developed countries. Just the shithole ones mostly.
HelpMeOverHere
I’m not talking about contracting. I’m talking about fixed term full time contracts.
It works in other countries.
HelpMeOverHere
Then people need to be offered fixed term contracts instead of it just being “ I wonder if I’ll get fired today.”
Americans are so fucking backwards I swear.

While I wouldn’t say I emulated him, my humour is basically on par with Chandler Bing. So sarcastic.

This is bordering on schizophrenic delusions now.

I think you’re getting way too off track.
You simply stated it’s top v bottom, not left v right.
I can find you plenty of examples of left wing parties that go after the top.
What I can’t find is a single right wing party that will also go after the top. Can you?
I’m not getting into conspiracy theories about new world orders that control governments or whatever you’re trying to reach to.
There ARE parties out there (on the left) that do exactly as you’d like; attack the top end of town. The 0.1% and the 1%.
The question is do you vote for these parties and candidates?
HelpMeOverHere
Which right wing party anywhere is railing against billionaires and wealth?
I could find you endless examples from the left.
HelpMeOverHere
Also the government is still ignoring soaring corporate profits (also known as INFLATED prices).
Rate rises will never touch these obscene profits. We need the government to do one fucking thing here, and that’s implement windfall taxes to stop it.

I was actually shocked (and surprised I didn’t know it) that private equity has large stakes in our urgent care clinics…. Under Labor.
I guess we really are trying to privatise as much healthcare as possible.
HelpMeOverHere
Except all the times they have compromised, though? They were going to vote on Tanya Plibersek’s EPA legislation; while publicly stating that they didn’t get everything they wanted.
But then Albanese shelved that legislation because WA miners wanted it shelved.
Literally the only example I see of the greens “not compromising” is the CPRS, and that’s 1) ancient at the point, and 2) was negotiated largely between Labor and the LNP and then 3) it was Labor who refused to compromise with the greens, because they had wasted so much time trying to strike a deal with the Liberals.
Lies like what you posted turn me off more.

You’re incredibly vague, and now just insulting people.
Your argument should be able to rest on its own merits, rather than you resorting to personal attacks to bolster your “argument”.
Give us the name of the last person you voted for in a federal election.

Left v Right IS Bottom v Top.
The left has been calling for the abolition of wealth hoarding for how long now?
Whereas the right wing dupes people into protecting and advocating for their billionaire backed parties. No matter where you look.
You cannot prove me wrong.

How do you feel about Pocock?

You can also click and drag colour swatches to change their positions on items.
HelpMeOverHere
A handy little “tip” I’ve learned is that if you want to edit an object’s style, switch your object category to one that contains very few items.
For example, If I’m placing something from the decor/miscellaneous tab with hundreds of items, and want to use Create a Style, it lags pretty terribly, but if I switch to kids/toys and then use Create a Style it loads so much quicker.
It is literally game changing for me. Took me a few years to figure that one out.

What makes them a joke? And which party do you support?
I’m not saying preference one nation first. Where did I even suggest anything like that?
Do you know how preferential voting works? Do you really think we only have one vote or something?
