dude.. I Hope that it's just coincidence that it looks similar to this
Similar would be an understatement
I'll double check when I get home to see if its 1:1
I suspect the willy wrangler device is either an April Fools joke, or else assembled from an assortment of hardware (sorry, pun intended)...
Yep, it is a camlock, used to close off a female hose fitting:
Camlock Type DP male dust plug (or a blanking plug) designed to cap off the female end of a quick-disconnect cam-and-groove hose coupling
I’ve looked at the picture and I still don’t know what the hell that is.
I’m afraid to know but I have to ask anyway. What is it?
I went to the link... Just so you don't have to, it is a stretching device you strap to the central family jewel and the other end to your leg. The device looks like an April's fool joke. I doubt it works from a physiological point of view.
I am sorry I went to look
The bottom shape looks a bit more curved in the one I found but everything else looks too similar. Just gonna pretend like I never found it.
Understandable. Just like me.. I'll pretend I didn't even find this shit..
Solved!
How did you even know about this device?
Brother how did you recognise such an obscure and humiliating item?
When you grow up with unlimited access to the internet, driven by curiosity and the desperate need to tune out—to not hear, not notice, and not be there—while your parents argue or fight in the next room, and then use you as a tool to inflict pain on each other or to put on a show of the “perfect family” in front of everyone else—which you don’t understand—and in doing so, you only cause more arguments and violence. You discover things you don’t quite understand. One of them is deep image searching… a drop of drinking water in the ocean of the internet… an ocean that was a better home than all the reality around you…
Reminds me of that one episode of How To.
wtf is that for?!
To paraphrase the website, it transforms your ding-a-ling into a DANG-a-ling. But the only thing it's been proven to do is shrink your bank account.
omg your description is a work of art. Thanks! :-)
Omg I clicked on the link
Almost looks like those old wheel type curtain rod rollers.
I immediately thought of an old shower curtain hook. The kind that slide in a trak.
Yup. God we’re old.
I work as a housekeeper in a hospital. We still use those curtain tracks for our privacy curtains. Makes it easier to replace the curtains when soiled or required by cleaning protocol.
Also found in 70's and 80's RV's for shower curtains
I have a similar weight for tossing a pull line over a tree branch so I can pull a larger rope, but it doesn't have the groove like yours
What is that called?
not sure if it has a real name, we just call them weights
Old electrical insulator for holding power wire
I've tried searching for "hooked caps" but the only thing that turns up are caps for fraying ropes. Like in the title its 1 inch in diameter, and .75 in in height exluding the hook. Looks like hook might have been drilled in.
My title describes the thing
What is on the underside?
Nothing. No hole but an indent.
That is a ceramic insulator uaed to run a hotwire for livestock
While it's similar in shape, this thing would be incredibly hard to use to mount a hotwire in any practical way. It also looks more like plastic than ceramic. For those wondering... https://www.runnings.com/media/catalog/product/cache/74c1057f7991b4edb2bc7bdaa94de933/2/0/2000587_image_2000587_021e.jpg
Maybe a waterproof flag counterweight
My dad had something like this for his old flag on the flagpole. It makes sure the bottom back corner of the flag stays down and doesn't get pushed to the top from sustained strong wind.
Looks like the counterweights are 2x the size of this though.
Insulator, I've seen this for electric fence and oldskool, rural electrical lines
If it's porcelain then a homemade weight for a warp weight loom.
Could be a mandrel for clearing conduits. Any other electrical tooling in the box might confirm
Insulator for electric fence wire.
