Been studied in UMT, there are much bigger biawak on jalan biawak in campus. They even would just rest in the middle of the road, until someone get too close to them. But normally would see them swimming in the river just besides Jalan biawak.
There was one time a biawak casually walking into the female toilet and you can imagine the symphony those lady sing and the biawak hectically trying to running away from the entrance.

Agreed. Besides fish they usually would go for dead animals and even rats and snakes. Areas with huge biawaks don't usually have many snakes from what I observed.

The food source from it's original habitat likely got reduced/disappeared leading it to forage at nearby residential areas.

i called firemen once, same case but the biawak come into my house lmao. was quite shock as it slowly ascending to 2ndfloor of my house. my inner girlish scream blurpedd out lol. i locked myself in the room , my wife was downstair cooking and asked her to call bomba. The one that enter my house quite big and look agressive. Gotta be careful with that biawak saliva though.

Actually I've seen villager catch biawak.no joke it take 3 people we bucket and some rope and just push it into the bucket and rope to tie it down.the first guys straight up start choking and humped the back of the comodo and the 2 other guy start pushing it into the bucket those big blue bucket or orang panggil tong.
