Big bluegill! We caught 25 this morning

Lake Athens, TX. Mostly on crickets. They are the biggest bluegill we have ever seen!

Hate you for this. We use to get these hogs on our lake ended up getting fished out. Best catch for getting a ton of great fish. Catch, clean for ever freeze and you have the best fish for the year.

Ive caught exactly 1 that's been this size..and let me tell you when I thought i had a bass i was stoked, but pulled that baby up and was over the freaking moon

Is that for sure a bluegill? I’m not disagreeing. There used to be massive perch in Lake Fairfield that looked like that. We called them humpback perch for lack of a better name. I think they all died out when the power plant was shut down.
