Yeah I just checked out the blog post and didn’t see anything about it. also, hopefully they announce the sale of and more details of the paid research for the cresselia this weekend during World Championships. I’m saving my rocket radar for the next rotation

I believe it's usually the same research with the same rewards where the name of the CD pokemon is changed every time.

That’s actually not terrible. 4 bucks for an elite tm assuming you were buying the com day ticket anyway. For those who don’t have many elite TMs this is a decent deal.

I assume you don’t like GBL? At one of the later research levels (300 wins?) you earn an elite fast.

I've also had decent luck getting elite fast TMs through routes. It's rare but if you do one every day, you're going to eventually stack them. I'm at 11 now and don't really have much use for them.

Lucky, I can’t even get a normal Charged from them. Only fast.

Routes don’t drop Charged TMs. Only Fast, both regular and, very rarely, Elites.

This is the first season I got the research for. I was hitting it hard early on but dropped off. I'm halfway through page 3. Guess I better get back on it, I'll have to hit it hard this weekend during the event.

GBL alternates each season i believe. you get one elite when you hit R20 and another in the research, and it flips which one is research and R20 each season

Ah I did an elite at 20. According to the wiki you also get a Fast at 400 wins and Charged at 500. So it’s a bit steep if you don’t play.

Per season. It’s very attainable if you do your dailies I started late and should hit it by the end. There’s also a five day stretch coming up where the limit is increased to 100 per day.

I hate it how mons I've had for years, walked, buddied, powered up and evolved on scarce candy immediately get made irrelevant when a CD rolls around. And to pour salt into the wound I'd need an elite TM to even get them on the level of the new ones, which I'm obviously not gonna do since I can now just make dozens of them with the desired move for basically free.

That's not a real problem in 2024 imho. Because we know from years that mons can have a cd and rarer mons (dragons included) ALWAYS get one. So it's a matter of having patience if something good happens to us. I had a hundo Goomy for 2+ years in my bag. But it was obvious we would get it this year as a cd

Usually gives you some alright items (lucky egg, star piece, super incubator), some dust and xp, and encounters with the beldum line

Question: Could you potentially buy this AND the in-game one, so there would be 2 Elite Tms available? Or does buying this somehow keep you from getting the 1250 (or so) coin box with an elite TM in it?

Nope you have to use an elite TM unfortunately. Unfortunate but worth it in the long run.

Elite TMs let you choose which move you want instead of randomly changing it like a normal TM. You can also choose moves that are normally only available during certain events. For example, during the upcoming Go Wild event you can evolve Croconaw to Feraligatr and get Hydro Cannon; Any other time you would have to use an Elite TM. They’re fairly rare but less so if you play a lot of PVP.

If so I’d skip it and try to get a free one from playing PVP. You get one at level 19.

I just hate how, if you're gifted the Ticket, it blocks you from buying this box on the web store.
I used to really like to send random friends Community Day tickets (since they're cheap, and especially if I knew they loved the Pokemon and/or they would be short on time and the extra Encounters from the ticket would be appreciated). But now I'm hesitant to send the Ticket gifts, since I have no idea if I'm going to be blocking them from buying the bundle.
I really wish they had two versions of this box in the webstore. One version with the ticket, and one with an item / a few items instead of the ticket. That way, even if you were gifted the ticket, you wouldn't be potentially blocking someone from this.
I dunno, #FirstWorldProblems I guess.

Do you know if the people you are sending the ticket to live in an area with a Community Ambassador? If those people attend a CD meetup and check in on campfire they get the CD ticket for free.

Idk if they've ever fixed it but the other issue I remember running into was not being able to gift tickets if the event was over in your timezone but hadn't started in theirs.

That's so nice of u! I've never been gifted a ticket. I didn't know people could do that. I wouldn't worry it will block them from the bundle they were gonna get tbh. The chances of that happening or them being mad about ur nice gesture are very low
