Interesting that the s10e (gsm score of 83) has better battery life than the s10 (79). S10+ got the highest of the three at 91. All tested with exynos version.
S10e sd855 battery life should be even better since it's a 7 nm process chip.
I'm interested in their battery testing methodology. Phone call time would be consistent, but web browsing and video playing, I wonder what sort of video and web pages. The reason I ask is I wonder how the composition of the comment impacts LCD Vs OLED comparisons
LCDs have better browsing battery life and AMOLEDs have substantial more time of video playback so AMOLED screen's get better times.
Idk why they don't test standby into the tests
They do test standby.
That's why they say 83h of average usage.
Probably to do with the screen size plus resolution. The S10e has a lower res screen.
My s10e is getting insane life
My Exynos s10e gets good battery life, but nothing great. I get about 5.5 hours SOT over 18 hours off charger. Much much much better than my s8 ever got, better than my Nokia 7.1 to which is surprising.
I have S8 right now and im loving it. How Is it worth upgrading?
I doubt 1nm difference can make any noticeable differences tho
It's relative. 7nm is 12.5% smaller than 8nm. It'll absolutely make a difference.
apparently the s10 and s10+ draw the same amount of power from the screen ect so having the larger battery of the + is definitely worth it
I just took this
before going to bed this evening. WQHD+, vivid mode, couldn't use company WiFi to stream March Madness, at least half brightness.
I certainly do not regret the +.
I have had mine now for close to two weeks, and it's a near perfect phone for me. I had nearly every HTC flagship going back to the HTC Droid Eris, and a few Galaxy phones along the way. Including the Galaxy S9, which I paid $400 for, and traded in for $550 when the S10e pre-order became available.
It just does everything you could hope for, and does it really, really well. I'd rather have a phone that does all of the things I need really well than a phone that does one or two things the best, then just shits the bed in all the other categories (Pixel phones).
Things it does really well:
Screen: bright, detailed, crisp, and 1080p looks fine to me
Size: I can actually use this one handed and it's not too heavy
Audio: quadruple threat - really good sounding FFS, really good call volume, really good headphone jack, and really good BT quality
Camera: not Pixel great but not far off; works with GCam
Internals: cutting edge specs plus memory card support; solid battery
Design: looks great and is water/dust proof; really dig the flat screen
Things it doesn't do well:
Weird the audio quality output differs. Looks like they put a higher quality DAC in the S10+
Is there that much a difference? I'm illiterate in regards to the metrics and measurements used to measure the difference in sound quality between the s10 models as depicted in the review.
I waaaant

You are using a 6 year old galaxy s4 and you are worried about a glass back lol.
Why do you need a removable battery?
Facebook can be disabled btw.
Bixby button is a functional button you can use for things like turning the torch on etc. It's fantastic.
Why do you need a removable battery?
He thinks current flagships still have 3.5 how SoT like they did around the era of the S4, and hasn't actually tried anything new.
How do you change bixby button to flashlight?
Cheers. Guessing you have to DL a flashlight app?
Bixby turn the torch on as a command
i wanted to say that you're ridiculous critizising the s10 when you're still using your ancient s4, but then i noticed that i'm writing this from a 2010 macbook, waiting for that perfect laptop to upgrade...
I legit can not believe you're not retiring the S4. It doesn't compare in pretty much every way to the S10e.
Uninstallable Unremovable facebook? That's almost a show stopper. Or maybe completely.
Edit: Seems like you can.
You can disable the app or just uninstall it via ADB if you care to.
People use it as a thinly veiled argument that has an easy solution because there is nothing worthwhile to complain about with the S10. So no matter how small or insignificant you'll hear it parroted by some people indefinitely.
Also bixby is fully remap-able with bxactions.
I can name a few things that are valid, but I don't really care about any of them.
No IR blaster
No force touch home button
No notification LED
No Iris scanner
No heart rate sensor on the S10e
Power button placement is too high
The other ones don't really apply to me that much. The HR sensor was cool on a friend's phone and that would be neat to have on the 10e but I could just get a Watch Active or one of the bajillion other heart rate accessories out there.
People use "easily" removable as a thinly veiled excuse to abolish Samsung of any blame for installing spyware on $1000 phones.
Workaround after workaround for shoddy software decisions, you fanboys make me sick.
Again, if your entire argument is centered around taking 2 seconds out of your day to remove something being to SOLE entire reason for not buying a device.
I don't for one second believe that's the actual reason for why you feel the need to bash Samsung's products, if you have some preference against Samsung just say that. Don't make up problems that don't exist, it just makes you look a bit silly.

Doesn’t mean the others shouldn’t call Samsung out for it.
It's bad, yeah, but still, if you care, you can uninstall it, if you don't, you just leave it there. The second group isn't privacy conscious anyway so it won't matter if there's the fb app installed or not tbf as a shit ton of apps automatically ping Facebook on launch no matter if the fb app is installed or you're registered at fb...
Not that I'm excusing it, but as a former S8+ and current Note 9 owner, it's just a shortcut to download Facebook (aka a stub), and you can disable it without any apps.
Haha, unremovable, right? Uninstallable would mean you could uninstall it. Or that you couldn't install it.
Hehe, yeah. In that case it would be ununinstallable.
I thought Facebook can be easily removed by using ADB?
I'm not sure; I haven't looked into it. I was just poking fun at his grammar.
The display is just good.
Just got the s10e yesterday, tried bxActions and it works perfectly in my use so far. $3. It'd be better if it could be completely remappable from the factory, but I wouldn't consider it a major con in the slightest
I've got a S8+ and I use my old S4 for the gym. I reset it before I started using it like that, and its got only music on it. Its painfully dog slow. The battery has been replaced but it's still crap - I get like 8 hours of music out of it. Not a phone I'd want to be my daily driver anymore.
Glass back
They also make ceramic versions
Not for the S10e. And for a lot more money.
Dude, how is the 6yr old S4 holding up? That damn thing is older than my kids haha.
As someone coming from a OnePlus 3, I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on this once a sale comes up, but the lack of good fast charging really makes me hesitate. I'm so used to not charging my phone at night and just plugging it in while I get ready in the morning. It seems that with the S10e I will have to so if I forget it will be brutal
A possible solution would be to get a cheap wireless charger (in Canada they have them at the dollar store for 4$). Just plop it on there before going to sleep.
Why does that differ from plugging it in at night?
It's not a big difference but it makes it easier. Especially with those vertical wireless chargers. Instead of putting it down on your nightstand you can just drop it on the charger instead of finding the plug.
So what is your phone doing at night which causes you to be unable to charge it?
What? The s10e doesn't have fast charging? That's lame
I've heard someone say the Snapdragon version is less likely to get updates rather than the exynos version. Can anyone tell me if this runs true?
It's more that the Snapdragon version people talk about the most is the unlocked US variant. That variant has to wait for all the major carriers to push out updates to their variants first. Thus, it gets the slowest update out of the bunch.
Exynos variants are usually unlocked and get updates direct from Samsung. I have no idea if there are carrier-locked Exynos variants.
Carrier-locked variants exist in the Philippines, and I presume this is probably true from all phones gotten with a carrier plan (unless the laws explicitly prohibit them from doing so). The again, here there aren't many alterations to carrier phones so i'm not expecting the situation to be as bad as the US
They reviewed an Exynos 9820 unit. Just FYI. 83h endurance rating compared to 79h on the S10.

What about the s10e SD855 version?

I'm not sure if they will be reviewing a SD855 unit but I'm hoping, as well.

Phone arena had the s10e get kinda midland results on their battery test.

Is the headphone out different between the exynos and the Snapdragon?
Most of the S10e reviews I've seen that focus on the audio use the Exynos.

There is a different dac between exynos and snapdragon, however from what I understand there's basically no difference in sound between the two.

I think there used to be, when I had the S6 US variant the audio was solid because it was an exynos, then I got the S7 with the snapdragon and the audio was not that great
