Yeah I’m holding my money till the last second. I want to buy the super citizen edition but I’ve been hurt too many times the past few years.
Pre order only gets you some extra armor. Stay strong!
Yeah, Don't pre-order ever guys. Wait for reviews. Stay Strong !
I already pre ordered it. If it's bad it's bad. It looks good though.
If review codes weren't given out. What "looks good" has only been meticulously curated ads. Cyberpunk, no man's sky and etc all looked good before launch.
Actually, there's full unscripted gameplay that's been leaked but the dev isn't striking the videos. One is a Japanese uploader, check it out. The game is going to be good, 7.5 minimum. I put money on it. There are people that have it, review copies and such.
I liked how Elden Ring looked before launch
My whole friend group fell one by one to the pre-order.
I was around in the before times when you had to wait for a magazine to come out with the reviews. We live in a golden age where reviews (not marketing previews) come out right before or on launch Day. It's not asking much to wait.
Its real sad to see people not understanding or ignoring the fact that pre-orders allow for more scumy practices. Broken on launch, low effort, false marketing.
I can't fault us gamers entirely too, the companies know and use every tactic to get us to. Pre-order bonuses, FOMO, hype.
If you don't pre-order though you lose those skins...keep that in mind..or you might not care
Don’t hold it to the last second, hold it till a week or two after, you’ve seen how hype affects people first touching a game, it took a week or two for people to admit starfield was bad. People loved New World at first until they reached end game and realized there was no good gameplay loop. If a few trusted reviewers are allowed to drop a review before or right after release then okay, otherwise I’m holding my money and waiting
I know fans are going to be mad at me but there have been tons of devs 100% trusted by their fans until they release a game and it’s not well received
You can refund a pre order as long as you don't download it
I can sure relate to this.
??? … Do you lift?
There's a bunch of gameplay out there.

I can excuse the mass marketing campaigns. Though they should be putting more out on their own social media. But, the late reviews aren't mindful to the consumer.
Probably next Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday
I hope it's before Thursday, that would be launch day
I’ve heard of a preview embargo running out tomorrow. No word on reviews though. Seems weird, I’ll keep my expectations in check.
Previews would be fine. I’d just like to hear the thoughts of somebody who’s played a bit of the game (other than the devs themselves).
There's a new IGN preview up. Almost a mini review. No spoilers, but it looks positive.
That’s what I was going to add. Gamespot also has a preview up where it seems nothing but praise.
Preview is not a review, it is supposed to be a showcase that draws clicks.
next week maybe

God, do we really live in a world where 1080p is considered low quality?
For a console I’d say yes cause most people play on their living room tv and considering how affordable 4K tvs are they’re very common
1080 has been low quality for several years now. nearly every TV is 4k.
1440p should be considered bare minimum now. 1080 is blurry garbage.
1080p has been around since 2005 lol why are you even asking? That's nintendo switch resolution lol
I hope it uses the upscale
If there was, they would have said it already.
Getting an answer about ps5 performance on the discord was already a miracle at all, they dont have the official ps5 modes posted anywhere else unlike the PC version which has a whole graphic
Tuesday is when the embargo is lifted
That’s great news if true! Do you have a source?
After the game release it seems, I don't think anyone has gotten review codes from media side, I guess they will all be jumping into the game day one like rest of us.
That’s usually not a great sign 😞
It could be either a sign of game quality or the fact that Sony does a piss poor job marketing games in this tier.
Don't buy it then.
My de facto stance is not to buy every game that gets released, but to buy games that I think I’ll enjoy. So yeah, I’ll wait for reviews so that I can be as sure as I can be that it’s a good game that I’ll probably enjoy.
Ideally the reviews would come out prior to release, and I think devs/publishers who are confident in the quality of their game will generally facilitate that. Not in this case I guess.
Well it's wait till release tho due to the fact that the game has missions and stuff that the community does as a whole and that would be counterintuitive to invite reviewers to play it earlier and find out ways to beat stuff effectively and so on prior to the general public getting to get to experience it all at once together.
If the reviewers and the streamers got early nothing would be a surprise and there would be thousands of videos and articles on how to to fucking everything this way or that to be the best. And so on.
I like that they don't have anything up. Better they figure out stuff with us. It's not a new developer. They aren't reinventing the wheel. Third person shooters been round for decades. So have twin stick shooters.
People are acting like arrowhead is making a fucking football manager after making the first one. That is not the case and there are plenty of honestly good third person games they could have looked to and should have for reference when making the sequel.
Just saying bud.
I absolutely won’t. Do they pay you to shill so hard and be pissy about it?
I'm assuming I'm missing some other comments that provide context for your comment.
If it's just based off "Don't buy it then.", that's not pissy. It's an honest and fair statement. Don't buy a game if you are concerned. Nothing about "Don't buy it then." suggests the commenter is a shill. Tone back the judgement.
From the looks of it... now.
Last I heard, they did not ever send review copies out. Not a good sign, tbh.
I wouldn't expect reviews until launch day at the earliest.
None yet, two days after. Very curious about this, seems kinda anti consumer
I wanna see how it performs on pc I’ve got faith in the gameplay for every trailer being well you know, gameplay.
My pc is above recommended specs on steam so it should be fine I can see why people with outdated rigs are getting worried though but all should be good really to my knowledge Sony has had very good pc ports as of late and if there’s no reviews before launch it’s whatever really
Modern gaming kinda sucks because of how people have been let down now anything that seems fishy is met with hostility instantly no one has faith anymore but I have faith in arrowhead regardless not a big company and won’t drop the ball
The file size alone is worrying me on how bloated unoptimized it surely is. 4k assets don't take that much. The game is procedurally generated on top of that meaning it should be even smaller. This is gonna be a mess and needless like how the rinse repeat low skill presentation the recent call of duty titles are. I hope it's at least playable.
do you think a 7900 xtx will run it ok?
A rare occasion when I won’t actually be able to play for a couple of days and I’m definitely going to be reading reviews before I dive in. No videos or previews have even sold me yet.
Unfortunate if they don’t give review copies or the embargo doesn’t lift until launch.
I mean I know nobody here is preordering anyway, as preordering is stupid and nobody in this sub is stupid because we’re all above this, but still. It’s not a vote of confidence.
This is the only game I've ever pre-ordered and I did it because I love Helldivers, not because I'm stupid.
Please dont include me in your delusions
I gave it 10 stars out of 10 two weeks ago. Most of us literally cannot imagine how or why you'd need to read a review first.
That’s some next level fanboying
You never know how good is performance, visuals, bugs, how much content and other things
It’s their first time releasing third person game
This sub in a nutshell
It’s the very first time this studio has made a third person shooter. There’s a lot they need to get right at their very first attempt, and this is in an industry that’s challenging at the best of times.
I hope they nail it, but reviews are a much better indicator of success than hope is.
They have a really good track record spreading democracy throughout the galaxy. What more could you ask?
Yeah cd project had it as well before the release of cyberpunk
Eh, TW3was also kinda a buggy POS on release. CDPR are mainly good at convincing people that partially fixing content down the line makes up for releasing it as a mess.
I’m….kinda unsure why it seems like they’re the only studio that that’s acceptable for.
Jesus christ

That's not even remotely true. Most games published by Sony will get reviews like three to seven days before release. It's the exception of games when reviews drop one day before launch.
Considering we didn't here anything I guess one day before the official launch.
This is wildly incorrect. Ps Studios games almost always have reviews up 2-5 days before release, as was the case with TLOU2 Remaster (and the original), Spider-Man 2, Gran Turismo 7, God of War Ragnarok and so on.
It might be that Helldivers 2 is an exception and will not have reviews before launch, but that’s very unlikely to happen.
None of those games have online components of any kind and I would take any reviews that release before launch day with a large pinch of salt
Multiplayer games fundamentally don’t get reviewed before release date besides maybe something like CoD but even that’s a stretch
It’s enough for ign to get 3 people playing to have an idea of how the online works, its not like this is a pvp game.
This is exactly what I’m talking about tho. Anyone remember the Cuphead incident where an IGN reviewer spent 45 minutes trying to beat the tutorial section?
Sometimes there are games that due to their structure are frankly impossible to review accurately without a solid 40-100 hours
Yeah sure. Anyways and completely unrelated, check our IGN’s preview 😁: https://youtu.be/nAY5eiLaTWY?si=nx3Ff24gvSyu7Zhd
Or gamespot’s Hands-On Impressions: https://youtu.be/re4c_Wu7u6I?si=wfyo6YETHSTYfws0
TLOU2 reviews were allowed (albeit with heavy restrictions in terms of what story elements could be discussed) a full week before launch.
HD2 is online only, I was honestly more expected previews than a full on review
Yeah, and that’s fair enough. There are always those sorts of caveats when reviewing an online game. But things like controls, presentation, UI, general gameplay loop, etc… those are all things we can hear about.
Have they even said they are doing previews?
IGN and Gamespot both have preview vids up on on YT
My bet, MC Score: 84-86
I'm kind of shocked that this gane is releasing in tlless then a week and I haven't seen any advertising for it yet I did see it on psn but that's about it
It's a multiplayer only game, i believe, right? This means that we won't get a review until it's officially out.
They cant review a game without actually testing the online. So next week. The preview is all we have for now. No doubt first impressions on release day as well.
Still no reviews, or news about the embargo itself. Big red flag
Seems OP has fallen under the mind warp of despicable Illuminates.
