Bogan is a classist slur. Changing your pronouns to they/them does not make you part of a genuinely oppressed class of people. Ceding the principle of freedom of speech to the right was never going to go well.

The big disappointment so far has been the absence of a comparable upsurge on the left. The Greens have held and slightly increased their share of votes (around 12 per cent) while others disillusioned with the major parties have gone for community independents.
That's probably the story that's going unreported at the moment. In a time of 'protest votes' and the breakdown of a major party, the Greens aren't attracting anyone. If your image as a party is being more cooked than PHON, you've got real problems.

Its about who is protesting. Who is feeling pain at the moment? Working class voters with low financial equity impacted by rising cost of living. Not likely to be greens voters.

Greens are young urban renters. They have more to complain about than rural retiree home owners who vote One Nation.
Wages have fallen behind inflation. The aged pension is indexed to protect from inflation, and shares have been strong.
House prices and rents in cities are much higher.

Which is a shame really because they're exactly the types of people who stand to benefit the most from Greens economic policies.
Things like expanding Medicare, socialised housing, renters rights, taxing billionaires and using the money to pay for free tertiary education would all be a tremendous benefit to them.

We’re in Australia. And I’m a ON member and on our local branch committee. Never once seen Trumps name mentioned or seen someone with a maga hat (apart from the Make Albo Go Away ones for sale at the website). None of us are in a position to vote republican or even vote at all in the US elections. So in the wise words of our founder can you please explain.

So what are they?
Here is part of my take:
Their political strategy is to discredit the more traditional right (e.g.: Fake News), and adopt positions which are objectively false.
They are happy to openly lie (immigrants are eating the pets) and contradict themselves, and their followers .. like it. You can say anything, and it does not have to be true.
The product they are selling is "retribution" for real and imagined wrongs.
The policy outcomes they are delivering for their voters are the kind of crap results you expect from incompetent administrators, who don't care. But they do enrich their friends. But their voters don't care, because they are winning.

No political party including labor has budgets and costings this far out from an election. Labor promised stuff in principle as is ON. When the election is closer the policies get padded out and more detail is released to the public. Find something else to sook about, this is how they all operate.
